What do you think of this fit? I'm not really sure why the Habs would bother being buyers at this point. Stick a fork in them. They're done! I can see them being sellers. Ditto for the Flames.

As long as they aren't giving up a boat load for him then I'm ok with it. Maybe Pricer is coming back soon and they think that they should be buyers at this point? One can only hope.

Lars Eller, 2nd for Mikael Backlund + 3rd

I guess you can never have too many mediocre centermen on your team.

He's a better player than just his point totals. His contract is fair value, no question. He's not underpaid, but he's also certainly not overpaid. I'd take him over say, Brandon Sutter.

I also think he's pretty underrated.

Article on Eller. I have to agree. He's a great #3 centreman and I think in a year or two, he and DLR would form a dynamic shut down duo. Article draws in the Backlund rumor as well as the problem with trading him for a draft pick. I'd have to say trading Eller weakens the team. The Habs would be better off to keep him as the #3 guy down the middle for the future...and not shift him all over the place.

If Backlund didn't get injured so much people would be talking about him as a very good 2nd line 2-way centre.
