Default Trade Advice - Do I give up Backstrom (WAS)?

So one guy wants to trade for my Backstrom (WAS) (league and team in signature).
    He needs assists and points.
I am sitting in 5th place, but I am quite close to first.
Opponent is 9th, fighting for the Playoffs (8 teams make it).
I have too many centers (7 for 5 C and F spots), and in addition to that McDavid’s return is coming closer.
I am quite good in most categories, but my team is quite assist heavy and i have been losing the goals category quite often. Also I need more SOG.

There is no single player on his team that i would want in a one for one trade, so i am thinking about a two for one.

I would drop McGinn who i only have temporarily because of buffalo’s schedule this week. Rakell was a temporary pick up too, but he has been really useful and since Anaheim is playing on many off nights i didn’t have to sit him so far.

What do you guys think about Kesler and Duchene for Backstrom?
    Am I getting enough value?

I might also give up one D since there are some on the IR and hopefully coming back soon:

    So I am thinking
    Kesler, Duchene, Marleau
    For Backstrom and Stone

what do you guys think, is that enough return for backstrom?

I would have a real hard time parting with Backstrom but I really like the return for you in the first trade. Getting Duchene would address your heavy on assists/light on goals problem and Kesler would pick up the FW slack and add a bunch of hits for you too. I'd make the offer and see what he counters with. Wouldn't expect him to accept unless he really wants Backstrom.

I think the first trade is pretty legit, in fact I'd be surprised if he didn't accept that. Backstrom is a perennial PPG player and plays with arguably the best fantasy hockey player in the game on the best team in the league. I think you could even snag more value for someone like him IMO, but the trade isn't bad and would address a couple issues. I think the other guy would be crazy not to accept a slumping Kesler and Duchene for the always-thriving Bakcstrom.

    Thanks guys!
I guess he really wants backstrom since i have been offering brassard and thornton and he has always countered with offers for backstrom.
right now he has offered marleau and crawford for my backstrom and schneider. this is definitely not enough for me as i think crawford has more or less the same value as schneider.

All I'll say about giving up Backstrom in trade is he's one of the very rare "steady eddie" players out there, meaning that his production is very consistent. As such, he's more easy to value in a trade than nearly others players, where there is a risk they could do much better or worse for the rest of the season. If you think you can get better than what Backstrom will give you (roughly a point per game, lots of PPP, some FOW, poor SOG, PIM and HITS/BS), then the trade makes sense.

do not trade away what you would find when you look up the term "consistency" in Merrian-Webster dictionary. You're only trading Backstrom if you are getting an elite positional player and a very good secondary player...period. Something along the lines of Wheeler/Nyquist if going off his squad. He wants him so the ball is in your court; make him pony up if he truly wants him so bad.

Duchene and Kesler isn't enough for a proven elite player like Backstrom. Kesler doesn't produce enough points so his fow aren't good enough for you paired with just Duchene. Wheeler's multi-cat production, Duchene, AND Kesler as a centre for Backstrom and Stone sounds better.
