I would take Drouin for Morin and a pick! Flyers need some future at forward.

I don't think your Toronto one makes sense... Toronto wants to get younger... Drouin is younger than JVR but Carle is older and TOR is not is position that they want to give up decent picks.

It’s Tampa dumping salary on Toronto. He makes 5.5mill till 2017-18 season, this would open up Tampa to sign those younger guys easier.

that pick would need to be a 1st. even then i don't think that's enough, JVR is worth more than drouin (lets say drouin + 2nd is fair value)...what's the incentive for taking on carle? that alone should be worth a 1st at minimum, brutal contract for a guy who's just about useless.

Not saying it’s fair, just clearing up the confusion to the best of my knowledge.

Toronto buries Carle in the minors, Toronto has Drouin, 1^st round, and maybe like Namestnikov or someone else for JvR and maybe a depth D-man to fill Carle’s spot in Tampa.

Maybe Ohlund gets traded instead of Carle.
Drouin, Ohlund, 1^st for JvR
Ohlund goes on LTIR, Toronto pays him out (3mill but contract is done this yr).

I for one do not want JvR traded. He’s my Fav Leaf.

How about a deal surrounding Adam Larsson and Drouin?

New Jersey has had some D-men step up, to the point that they are not using Larsson the way they should be. New Jersey is a team that could certainly use a player like Drouin.

Larsson was highly thought of when he was drafted and is signed to a reasonable contract. It makes sense to me.

Just curious. How many players who demand to be traded actually are? I feel like we here these all the time, but never see the results. Marty St. Louis was a big one but that was still a couple of years back.

Discussing a rumor(Real) and throwing trade proposals(Imagined) around are completely different things.

As armchair GMs it makes plenty of sense to have a spot to speculate on potential NHL deals. The forum subtitle pretty much accepts any and all speculation IMO

Love the JvR proposal but power forwards are too tough to come by so I don't think that happens.
If they clear Carle's salary it would go a long way in helping them sign Stamkos. I haven't watched enough of their young depth forwards to really know what they need to add to their forward group but I'm wondering if they need to give Namestnikov or maybe Marchessault a change to be a setup man for Stamkos.
Callahan is a nice piece to have for your middle six but I think his contract is far too much dollar and term as well but I don't see them moving him.
Kapanen+Harrington+Komarov for Drouin+Carle+3rd?

Uncle Leo should be traded high this season, but I doubt he gets traded unless it’s something big because of how much M.Babs likes him. You do need these guys around for a rebuild, otherwise you have young guys teaching younger guys.

Everyone keeps talking about that Carle contract being bad, but man if I am Tampa and I have to trade Drouin I would move out that awful awful Callahan contract along with him. He is on the cap at $5.8 until 2020(!!!!!) while Carle is $5.5 until 2017-2018 that is much more manageable.

But I do not think he will be traded, he's only 20. I see it as just frustration and trying to force TB to play him more.
