Was anyone else hoping that the kid was going to run over him at the start of the story?

Nah, he wouldn't. There have always been douches in the game, even in the rough and tumble 70's and 80's. Think Ken Linseman (hmm, the Rat), Dino Ciccarelli, Theo Fleury, Darcy Tucker or to a lesser extent (because goons were much less prevalent thank to the instigator penalty) Sean Avery. Those guys were a little crazy, would fight when they had to and were tough enough to hang on and not get killed when the real tough guys came calling.

Jesus, a team with Stamkos, Tavares, Pietrangelo and Del Zotto on one team...and losing! Of course it was Eberle who scored the overtime winner. Wow.

Here's a good read about thoughts from an NHL player inside the bubble.

The best part...Connor McDavid was taking it easy during summer skates with NHLers to not embarass them...when he was 16.

Colin Wilson and his battle with OCD - https://www.theplayerstribune.com/po...-mental-health

This one hits close to home because I have been plagued by OCD most of my life, in the form of fear of contamination and germs. It causes me to have intrusive and ruminating worries, which, in turn, cause me to practice harm avoidance and rituals associated with ensuring the health of me those around me. Fun stuff during COVID as you can imagine...lol.

Even if you don't think you're aware of anyone with OCD, you probably know someone who has it but is trying very hard to not let it seep into their everyday life.

Thanks for sharing Roos. The article was really good and I'm grateful that Wilson had the courage to write it.

I always enjoy reading the Players Tribune. It's good to see the very human side of hockey.

Yes thanks for the share Roos. Very human of you. I too find the Players Tribune to a wonderful read often. Axe linked to a story Sam Gagne wrote on Joey Moss there that was also just wonderful.

A very nice piece written by Sam Gagner on the passing of Joey Moss:

    https://www.theplayerstribune.com/po...-oilers-hockey

For those not familiar with his story, Joey Moss was born with Downs Syndrome in 1963. In 1980 he met Wayne Gretzky who was dating his sister. Gretzky convinced Oilers GM and Coach Glenn Sather to give Joey a job in the Oiler's dressing room starting in 1984. Joey worked for the next 35 years as locker room attendant for the Oilers and Edmonton [Football Team]. Joey was a local legend in Edmonton and very recognizable to most Edmontonians. Joey was involved in numerous community initiatives with the Oilers helping people with mental and physical disabilities. He could also rock a rendition of the national anthem.

    RIP Joey.
