Not Ference's fault, mind you. Too many expectations that he would single-handed repair the sieve. Maybe there's a way to fix it in the press box.

Ference was miscast from the start in Edmonton. The train fell off the tracks long ago.
Reinhart hasn't been playing enough so the AHL option makes a lot of sense.

Ference is a bottom pairing guy, there might have been a small period where he was a decent second pair, but that was years ago.
Reinhart needs more time in the AHL.... Nothing wrong with him being sent down. He wont be a top 2 defender, there's just nothing dynamic enough about him. But give him some time and he could become a good #3, Hjalmarsson style.
