I smoked in gr12 to honestly be cool when I was at parties. That transitioned into post-secondary when I went into residence. That turned into when I was stressed+drinking. Then I quit when it got cold. Started up and turned into a chain smoker by December of my 2nd yr (20yrs old). Stopped because it got cold, then switched to cigars the next summer, then just stopped. This summer I bought a pack of cigarettes (24yrs old) and was through those in like 2 days. Stopped for the 3rd day and had crazy cravings. So I went to a sauna for the next 3 days and I just sweat out any toxins in my body and the cravings were over.

I did chew in gr12 at school because I could do it on the bench at hockey, and in class/lunch inside. I stopped when I learned my crush thought it was gross lol.

I've never smoked a cigarette before. Smoked just about everything else you can smoke though lol. Never did chewing tobacco in my 13 years of playing baseball either...I much preferred stuffing my face full of sunflower seeds.

It's less about careful placement and more about how dry it is out. Needs to dry for a while with ludicrous relative humidity. For instance, when I was out in BC this summer, they had 35 degree days with 7% rH for a few days in a row. That's when they started having issues with people's cigarettes causing wild fires.

Anyways, I know you were just tossing out a joke but I never miss an opportunity to inform.

I remember getting light headed from smoking cigarettes. I use to like it actually. When I felt stressed I would have a few puffs of my cigarette, feel light headed and stress levels would go down. Then would come the horrible after taste for me, never was a fan of the taste. Thought the blowing of smoke + stress relief of it was the only good thing about it.

But I would much rather feel the high off a double vodka and cranberries. No horrible after taste

I for one miss these kinds of casual threads. It's a nice balancing act for the random angry-bird threads where a few people with serious hypertension go ape-shit on each other and completely derail the thread.

I guess I never did chime in on the actually question. I have smoked cigarettes. Maybe one or two. Never had any interest in taking up the habit as an asthmatic. Plus it's just terrible for you. I do enjoy the odd cigar now and then. We also had a houka in my house in university for special occasions though I do seem to recall it wound up used for non-tobacco products more than anything. In total, I have probably smoked tobacco in all of its forms less than 30 times.

As for chew, I have never even come close to trying it. I kind of wish that I did because most all of my friends/co-workers chew and it seems a very communal experience. I just cannot get past how gross it looks/smells. And I have absolutely no interest in getting the lightheadedness associated with the product.

I have been known to slap in some jerky chew when available and I will also toss a Tootsie Roll in my lip just to pretend. Not the same though...
