Starting a 6 year deal? I think he's a safe guy for 35+ wins per year and a top goalie own for at least four of the next five years. Lengthy slumps won't matter, because that contract will have the team keep throwing him out there. Huge advantage, and increases the odds of success

Never. He had his chance last year, didn't make his mark. At all. Could be a third liner though, 45 point guy

Stepan could be a 75-point player but he's finding his niche as a band-aid boy. I think it slows him and he becomes a 65-point, 75-game player. Upside is there, but he's had a rough couple of years even if he gets back from injury early, they seem to cost him.

Kreider will be 70+, but his style will make the road to that point a long one. Tremendous upside and I have lots of confidence in him, you just have to wait another three years or so.

Kuznetsov sure is. Tarasenko 2.0. This year.

Points only. Goals=2pts, Assists=1pt. Who would rather have for the rest of the year? N. Backstrom or Kessel? Gut says Kessel but that Pittsburgh offence worries me.

Would you deal Johansen and Nyquist for Kuznetsov and Larkin? Its an offer that's had me thinking long and hard

Would you trade Mason for Vatanen? Should I ask for more? Also what are your thoughts on Klingberg and Wheeler. They have been really helping me so far. Curious on what you think Wheeler could put up point wise. Can Klinberg be an elite/top 5 dman going forward?

Chara is more valuable. Savard is better to own. Difference is - Chara can be traded for more. Is a trade an option at all? If not...depending on how aggressive you are with trades, I would keep Chara even though Savard would help an H2H more. If you tend to sit tight and deals are tough to come by in your league, then drop Chara and roll with Savard. I really think Torts loves Savard and you'll see it in the numbers

9-team, pts only pool. Top-12F, 6D, 2G count (2 pts win, 3 S/O). Have never finished above 3rd last (expansion team 3 years ago). Currently in 2nd place (4 points out of 1st, 20 points up on 3rd). Have been offered his Plekanec for my Duchene. Too early to chase points / give up on Duchene? Definitely 40 potential, even 50. But I'm not thrilled with how the coaches (two of them now) are using him. They're obviously unhappy about something, which makes him too big a risk to ever be on my team. His offensive zone starts are through the roof this year, suggesting he's getting pampered in every way possible (yet only used on the 2nd PP)

Forsberg does have that potential, or at least to get close (75 points)

I would trade the guy who has proven the least - which is TT. That's one instinct that everyone has right now (move the guy who is doing nothing), and in this case I agree with them. Teravainen's profile

Absolutely. I'm already starting to think Anthony Deangelo here. It's early yet, but by January that's exactly what I'll have him at if he keeps anything close to this up.

My finger has been on the trigger to pick up Jon Gillies or Matt Murray for a while, when do I pull that trigger (by the draft each of the last two seasons, Gibson, Vasilevskiy, and Hellebuyck have turned from meh guys at the end of the season to late first round early second rounders by the draft)?
It's probably about time to pick up either one. You'll be sitting on each for a year (minors) plus another year (as backup) and then you hope one will have shown enough to force a starting job (or a trade to a team that has a starting job open)

Will Khochlachev ever get a shot?
Of course. He'll be up and down this year a lot. And full time next year.

What are your feelings on rookies increasing their peripheral stats as the years go on. I've noticed that shot rate certainly has a pattern of increasing but am starting to see guys like Nyqvist and even Gaudreau piling up more hits and blocks this year. Do you think Morgan Rielly will be able to do this and pull himself up from looking like a Pietrangelo or Brodin (awesome defensemen but underwhelming in roto leagues) and become more of a Mike Green or Roman Josi?
This is just more ice time, different/more situations, and more confidence (so they ca take more chances, i.e. go for that hit they may have shied away from two years ago for fear of getting out of position). Rielly will do this too, though sometimes defensemen take six NHL seasons or even seven before they find that comfort zone.

How many years we gonna have to wait on Jeremy Roy?
Not even on my radar yet. At least three more.
