Has he looked not that good or is there more to the story? What do you guys think of his production + future

I had Lindholm & R.Strome as my breakout candidates this year.
Unf, I don't have "regular cable" any more... so I don't subject myself to FoxSportsCarolina as much as I used to. (My Canes knowledge was ridiculously good in past years.)
Can't say I've caught a Hurricanes game this year - even though I can pick my games with my GameCenter subscription.

But I'm curious what people have seen so far from him.

I am really high on Elias but this year I am trying to contend (14th/15 currently lol) and let it be known in my league that he is available. No offers yet :/

I've only caught about 1.5 Canes games this year, in the 85 or so mins I've watched, he was completely invisible. That being said, the only players that were noticable were Rask and Faulk. I'm not sure if that has been the norm or not, hopefully someone else has seen more games.

I'm still like his potential long-term, but I'm not sure this will be the breakout year many of us were predicting.

By his game log, it appears he's taking 7-12 FO per game.
That's typical of a C3 on most teams.
Line combinations suggest he's playing with Eric Staal... though E.Staal is down to 2-6 FO per game in last three.

It could possibly be indicative that Carolina wants to mold Elias Lindholm into a center in preparation that Eric Staal is donzo in Raleigh.
The transition to the center slot can be really detrimental to the point-output of a forward.
Learning to play the NHL two-way center game is tough.
    Very tough.

It tripped Nathan MacKinnon up in his Year2 and COL eventually let him shift back to wing.
This year, they are going to stick with it and force him into the full-time duties.

By year #1 at full-time center can be tough... and that might be what Lindholm is going through.
CAR PP is also garbage right now.
They overperformed last year, which was a red flag to not invest in Justin Faulk so highly this year, he's not a 49pt defenseman.

The Canes also play 8/10 games on road to start season.
They've played 6/8 on road so far, with games in DET & NYI yet.
    http://espn.go.com/nhl/team/schedule...ina-hurricanes

November they are pretty much at home... and they are one of two NHL teams that I think plays SIGNIFICANTLY better at home than on road. (SJ being the other)

Might be a good time to buy low on E.Lindholm... before CAR comes back to Raleigh.

While the whole team has been pretty awful, he has been particularly ineffective. Certainly a step backwards so far.

I was also looking at him as a buy low. I'm rebuilding and would offer Brock Nelson and spare parts. I like lindholm more in the long run but there's definitely a chance Nelson wins out too.

Great point about transitioning to center.

As a Lindholm owner I would accept this offer. I currenthly have Lindholm on the table for

    Sam Bennett, Elias Lindholm

    for

    Corey Crawford, Brad Marchand

A few more personal thoughts on why i like him long term: he's still likely their top asset at forward so they're going to do everything they can to figure out if he can be a top line forward in his prime.
Also, with dmen like faulk, hanifin, Fleury behind him, they should be able to help keel things moving on offense and get the puck in the attacking zone. Plus a developing offensive specialist in Murphy.

Any further thoughts now that the run is now 1 point in 12 games? I have an offer of a 13-15th overall entry for him... not the best considering his draft pedigree, but as I look at Carolina's other forwards who else is there to help him? Staal - hasn't helped him yet, Skinner - we've waited for him to bounce back for 3 years now, Rask - really the only young forward they have that is producing anything.

I'm very much tempted to restart knowing he's a buy-low candidate, however nothing I've seen or heard seems to indicate he has the production skills (except that one 5 pt game last year) to become a 60 pt forward.

EDIT - after looking at FrozenPool, he was off the 1st PP and 1st line. Might have more to do with his first game back from missing time, but still is another thing for me to consider.

I still think he has 60 points in him, but it might be further away than most of us thought.

Depends where your team is if you sell or not. If you're competing now you may be better served to sell, as I don't think he's helping anyone this year. But if you aren't competing now, or have a huge minor system, I'd hold.

Nothing much to contribute but with both Lindholm and Skinner on my squad I'm a very frustrated owner...

Im dropping Lindholm at mid draft. Lost all faith. Plus there are some decent forwards still available in free agents.

And Skinner now on fire too. It seems that everyone in CAR is getting points except Eric Staal.
