Default Crosby & Rask for McKinnon, Galchenyuk and Price

Considering sending the following trade in a 12 team keeper league. I own Crosby and Rask (also have Varlamov and Pavelec as G). Offensive positions are 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 4D, 1U, stats are G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SOG, BLK. 2G spots with W, GAA, SV and SO. Would like to get some feedback on the quality of this trade. Crosby is a big name to give up, however am concerned with long term potential for the Bruins (and as such Rask).

    Feedback, comments?

    Thanks,

Yeah I would do this deal. Even though you give up Crosby, you upgrade Price over Rask (who is not looking like a stud with Boston's deteriorating defense). Galchenyuk has been impressive with the move to centre and looks to be breaking out. And then you get MacKinnon, who many were selling short after an off-season, which was likely not much more than a sophomore slump.

I wouldn't do that. Crosby is by far the best player in the deal, and your league is weighted toward skaters, not goalies. Rask could have a rough road ahead, but I'd look for a more moderate deal for a net minder that doesn't involve moving your top asset. McKinnon and Galchenuyk Don't replace what you lose in crosby here.

Yes important to consider how deep your league is and who you would have to drop to make this trade.

I wouldn't do the deal. Even though Price is better than Rask, you're giving up the best player in the league. Crosby has the potential to outscore anybody so I would wait to see how Rask continues to do. I wouldn't panic with Rask, he's still a great goalie.

That's not enough for Crosby in a keeper league.

Rule of thumb: Anyone trying to acquire Crosby in a keeper must SIGNIFICANTLY overpay. That's just how it is...

    Welcome to the forum!

Frankly, I don't hate this deal, especially if there are 2 goalie slots. Price should be a four-category upgrade over Rask, even compensating for Rask's recent struggles. The question is whether Crosby's 'negative delta' being replaced by MacKinnnon is greater that the 'positive delta' between Galchenyuk and a replacement level forward on your team. In a 12-team league, I would assume your worst forward would be a fair bit less appealing than Galchenyuk.

Before you pull the trigger for any reason, because it's Crosby, you have to really test the market, because as other posters have mentioned, he usually goes for sky high market value. A lot of leagues would support this deal even if you swapped Rask for Pavelec.
10-Team, Custom Keeper. In this league GMs sign their own contracts at an auction for a specified price and term up to 4 years.
