They will contend for top spot in their competitive division with their depth, but a lot will depend if Dubnyk was a 3 month hot streak or the real deal.
Last season, the Minnesota Wild finished sixth in the Western Conference and had their second-best season in franchise history. However, listening to some in the Wild fan base you would’ve thought last season was an absolute failure. (Read the rest of the post)

agree totally with the post saying it depends on Dubnyk. The team is strong, but Dubnyk has only been a good goalie for 2/3's of a season and he has been a weak goalie for years. If he plays like pre last season, Minnesota is toast.

Central Division is just so damn tough, that it's hard to say how the Wild will do. But I agree with above, so much of it is dependant on Dubnyk.
A jump from Granlund would be nice, health for some of their older players would help too.
Re the Central: Just read a prognostication from Justin Bourne (Score) that has Dallas winning the Central. I don't see it, but maybe they do. http://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/817028
I agree that the Central Division will be tough for them. I believe that Dubnyk will give better than average goaltending this year. I also think this is the year we see what Granlund can do.

Dubnyk has not been a weak goalie for years. He has actually been a pretty goalie on weak teams, which affects his win totals. Go look at his individual numbers and you will that up until two years ago, he actually held a pretty solid GAA and Sv% on crappy Oiler teams. After the Oilers dealt him, two seasons ago, he went into a tailspin and bounced around something like 4 or 5 organizations in a short period of time. His "2/3rd" of a season last year was only 2/3rd because he was brought in to relieve a crappy Mike Smith in Arizona after signing there as a FA. It's obvious that Sean Burke helped get his game back on track.
Those who think he was only a good goalie last year really haven't paid much attention to Dubnyks career as a whole.
