I agree with this as well. In the playoffs Hayes saw lots of ice time and seemed to take that next step

I would be careful with Hayes at least for the upcoming year. He played primarily with MSL and Hagelin and saw limited time on the wing. He had a very nice run in the 2nd half of the season but in the playoffs he only got 7pts in 19 games. Again the fact that he played with a very ineffective MSL definitely hindered him so he should be better this season. But most likely he will play #3C. Miller is not a good center and right now Rangers do not have anyone else that can do it. Eventually Lindberg might take that spot and Hayes could move up to wing in the top 6 but right now he is the #3C.
That being said, he has great upside. Just don't expect big things right away.
Hayes' future is on the wing....maybe he plays center this season, but he's not a very good center at the NHL level.
Long-term, I see him as a 60-ish point wing. He won't be anything special in the hits or blocks cats, but he won't hurt you in those cats, either. As for PPP, I don't see him being good enough to run a PP, but he's also not necessarily a big shooter that can make his living doing that. He might have some potential as a net-front player....but I don't see him being a huge producer on the PP anytime soon. 15 points or so is manageable.

I think he will play 3c. This season. Maybe a wing in the future but I don't think miller will be center this season. Hayes may see a bit of decline but long term I really like him. Hopefuly he will get some pp time.

When interviewed Hayes says he is a center. He is really slick with the puck on his stick, especially carrying it into the zone. Yes his faceoffs need work but every Ranger needs improvement at the dot.
My hunch is that Hayes will take to the wing in a top 6 slot, replacing MSL minutes and with a corresponding boost in PP time as well.
25 goals and 35 assists next season as long as he playing with Brass or D-Step
I think the 3C position will be earned at camp
I am hoping that Lindberg makes the club at pivot and slots in on the 3rd line, as Dom Moore is a great fit on the 4th line.
JT Miller will lineup at RW alongside LW Etem on the 3rd line.
Etem-Lindberg-Miller
Glass-Moore-Fast
Is what I am hoping to see when camp breaks
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.
