Default Do I keep to much salary at D?

League in sig...salary cap league counting actual salaries, do you think I have to much $$ spent on D? What would be your strategy with the team in sig? Keep in mind that the farm team don't count against the cap....

Thanks for the replies.... rep to you!

I would try to keep your d together, move E.Staal and Zach Parise and drop B. Richards.

    Thanks!

Yup! Staal and Richards don't count on my salary cap as of now but they'll be drop at your draft for sure....As of Parise, I would like to keep him at least on the farm team to have an option if Malkin gets hurt but his 9M is heavy.....I was thinking about droping Datsyuk as well....

Well whenever Datysuk is healthy, he's worth the money. Can't say that about Parise.

My gut is that you are spending too much on your defensemen and that your forwards are underwhelming for a nine team league. However, without knowing what free agents are available, I can't give any definitive answers, just some thoughts.

I think that spending $17.25 million on D, which could get you about 150 points (50 each) is a lot of money, when you could probably reach 150 points for $10 million with forwards (depending, again, on who the free agents are). If I had to choose one of your defensemen to move, it'd be Byfuglien. He's getting a new contract and his salary will go up, while he's also the oldest of your group, and on a team with a number of good young (potential) stars on defense.

I agree with the above that Parise and Staal are overpaid. Datsyuk becomes Staal, as you already said, which is the first move at forward that I would make.

Could you trade Schneider for a cheaper goalie who is going to get you more wins than he will? That's a salary that I would try to trade, seeing as it's a points-only format. New Jersey doesn't get enough wins to spend that much money on Schneider if you don't get his stellar GAA and SV% stats.
