Keeper thoughts...REP

Action starting to heat up in the league and evaluating who to keep/trade/drop for the upcoming season (team in Sig.)

I am thinking of keeping Pavelski, Karlsson, Landy and Tank + Lee, Strome, Nichuskin/Matthews as my minor guys. Obviously not keeping a goalie hurts, but is Luongo worth holding onto at the expense of any of my keepers? Is Palat worth keeping over any of my keepers? Nich or Matthews? Nich helps me now...FWIW my 1st round pick is in the last quarter of the draft.

Any thoughts much appreciated!

I wouldn't keep Luongo.
I wouldn't keep Palat.
I'd take Nichushkin over Matthews.
This gives you a solid offence to start the season in my opinion.

Really? You would keep Nichushkin over the almost undisputed (for now) 1st overall pick in the '16 draft?

I would think a guy who won't even be eligible to be in the league for another year would be easier to redraft than a guy like Nichushkin who already has a lot of buzz going into this season.
I must confess that I have no experience with farm team leagues though, haha.

Only keep 7 in a 16 team league. That will make a lot of Nichushkin type players available. If Austin Matthews does what everyone says he will to the Swedish leagues, he will have a lot of buzz leading up to the draft and likely borderline untouchable outside of #1 in any farm draft. Lee, Strome, Matthews in the farm for me!

You could probably swoop in and get some solid goaltending this year in your draft with a lot of teams opting to have 1a/1b goalies. Lehtonen/Niemi, Allen/Elliot, Lack/Ward, etc. I wouldn't be afraid to release Luongo here.

I like your keepers, although I would actually keep both of Matthews/Nich and drop off Lee from your minor league team

good chance of redrafting both Luongo (or a comparable goalie) and Palat if u decided you want them , so go with your original 4 keepers and Nich, Strome, Matthews!

IMO, no. His name is now getting publicity since the McEichel draft dust is settling. It's big news about him signing in Sweden instead of the USA. Anyone who has to keep an eye on prospects are already trying to acquire future picks from bottom dwelling teams in the hopes to score him.
