Actually, I just find it a little checkered when Canadians write check instead of cheque because it tells me that they didn't double check their spelling with a Canadian dictionary, because if they did, it would all check out. Phew.

When I am reading a lengthy document in .pdf form and 1 centre the first page on my screen, I then hit the "Page Down" button and the next page is not centered. After skipping 5 or 6 pages and finding the page I need to review I have to use the mouse to re-centre the page.

Page down should equal 1 exact page down!!!

This right here. If I've already adjusted the magnification of my document to view a full page at once, why would I want to view the bottom half of one page, a gap, and then the top third of the next page?

Also, no YouTube user ever has hit the space bar to view the comments section. The space bar is for pausing and unpausing, nothing else.

Gambling advertisments by the countries biggest bookie, the government.

I don't know why the Ontario government (and most provinces i'm sure), need to make gambling seem like it is the best thing Ontario has to offer. More money is spent on gambling advertisments than on promoting the province to tourism. It is advertised in all forms of media and now you can play your favorite casino slot machine by downloading an app from the OLG. So instead of the government looking out for your best interest, like they did with cigarettes, they want to take advantage of your gambling addiciton.

Gambling probably ruins more families than cigarettes ever did. Many have gambled away their life savings, their homes, their inheritance and education funds, which have led to families breaking up. Also, there are over 200 gambling related sucides a year in Canada. Many of these victims hang themselves in their complimentry rooms or in casino bathrooms. Now, there will always be people ruining their lives by gambling, but why, not only encourage it, but make it easier?

This from a govenment that bans cigarette advertising and forces cigarette manufacturers to put graphic warnings on their product. Meanwhile, the Ontario govenment washes their hands from whatever tragedies that may occur from gambling by telling their customers to, 'Play responsibly' or 'Know your limit. Play within it'. Seems so hypocritical.

I have the same issue with popular TV shows getting into gambling. Two of the most popular programmes with teenagers and young adults are The X Factor (a singing contest show) and Britians Got Talent, both of which are now advertising online gambling sites with slot machines, black jack etc. How is it right that programmes that are popular with this demographic can be allowed to advertise gambling sites under their name just drives me to despair.

Restaurant staff singing Happy Birthday. Can we just stop this already?

I took my mother to Red Lobster for lunch the other day. The establishment was about half full and fairly quiet. Then all of a sudden, about 5 staff members start singing and clapping. F%#@off!!!

So now you can't hear the person you are having lunch with. Restaurant owners really should just stop this ridiculous practice. I'm sure the staff doesn't enjoy singing Happy Birthday to some stranger. I'm sure the birthday celebrater doesn't enjoy it. I know I don't.....and i'm positive the rest of the patrons don't enjoy it either.

    Thank you.

I've worked as a server in over a dozen restaurants throughout the years. I hated every single one. You need to avoid chain restaurants - Red Lobster, Jack Astor's, Montana's, Swiss Chalet, East Side Mario's etc.. Almost always the song his sung because someone at the table has given the server 'heads up' it's person A's Bday. I was written up for avoiding the songs at one point.

I've never seen it first hand but my old boss had a close friend that lost his savings , house and eventually his wife . When the wife and I go to a concert at Casino Rama(excellent acoustics) we set aside an amount that we're willing to kiss goodbye on the slots while killing some time before concert . I see alot of seniors there just gazing at that slot machine screen and hitting the spin button over and over and it makes me wonder what their financial circumstances are .

bit of an irk but also bit of a relief .

I have / had a few small meniscus knee tears and have been seemingly rounding the corner to a bit of a recovery . I finally get my knee specialist appt. yesterday and just as I plant my ass cheeks down in the waiting room the knee specialist gets called out for emergency surgery --re-booked for mid aug .

bit annoyed that I have to wait another 2 month to get his opinion but also a bit relieved because I've been improving bit by bit and didnt really know what to say to him because theres still a few bad days mixed in with the good ones .

While at the pool, people who take a crap, bypass the shower, then proceed to jump into the pool. Grosses me out every single time. And there are those who smell ridiculously bad (B.O), and again, bypass the showers and jump right in thinking it's a huge bathtub.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
