Can't believe the Colts took a WR. They need to pick just about anything else there.

Ya, I get that, but when was the last time you didn't see a guy who was projected to go in the top 5 (we all knew he wasn't going to last that long) not show up at the draft, let alone the kid who already knew he was going #1.

I just found it weird that the projected 1-2 picks were not at the draft. I can understand if you weren't expected to go in the 1st round and somehow you went earlier than expected but to know full well you were going to be one of the first names called, you'd think they would want to be there to bask in all the glory.

Surely to god the NFL can afford to fly these kids in for what is probably going to be the greatest day of their lives.

Yeah that one puzzled me too. I'd have thought defense there, or at least O-line they way Luck gets beaten up. I love Dorsett. Blazing speed and one of few that can actually play at his timed speed. But he's essentially a mirror image (albeit a faster one) of TY Hilton. Colts are already stacked at that position so...yeah, that selection is a head scratcher.

I think they just rather be at home. Long year of workouts, training, interviews, and hearing what’s wrong with you. Most of these guys don’t ever have an off-season (playing other sports, classes, off-season workouts) so they’re enjoying it now. Also if they have a few celebratory glasses of champagne or a 40 they won’t get in trouble.

Maybe the Colts are thinking they can have Andre Johnson as a mentor, so when he leaves Dorsett can jump right in? I dunno, didn’t like that pick.

Definitely needed to go defense or OLine. But I guess if they had Dorsett that much higher on their board than anyone else available to them that's the right way to pick. Kinda surprised a third RB didn't go in round 1 given the first two went earlier than expected.

As for the picks not being there, hard to fault them. Sure the NFL can fly them there, but at home they can celebrate with family and friends, don't have to be as much on ceremony, etc.

2-3 I think, and 4, 5, 6 spread out on Saturday and Sunday.

Maybe just 2 tonight, and 3-4 on Saturday, and 5-6 on Sunday.

It's always funny to click on the telly Sunday during rounds 6-7, and seeing all the commentators disheveled, fully bearded, ties off, hungover, and fully drained and otherwise listless trying to convince me that Lonnie Ballentine is a great fit for the Texans.

“At 5’11” 200lbs, he’s a bit undersized for an OL but his tenacious attitude and never give up attitude is something he can bring to the table that John Doe cannot. Even though John Doe was their 1st round pick, he’ll give him quite a battle and create some good internal competition”

At least with hockey they can say he’s a role player, or a minor leaguer. Football, it’s a player they want to start, or a hitting bag on the practice squad. Good on the commentators for making BS up tho, but at some point you have to say, “It’s because he was homeless” or “ya, I dunno about this one. But not like it matters, he’ll be cut in 2 weeks”.

Drafted past the 4th round, good luck making football a lifetime career.
