I know its a bit early for projections but where do we see his production when he steps into the NHL.

Excellent skating but I'm not sure he's an offensive wizard...so I think he has 45 pt potential but should be a guy that chips in with 25-35 pts most of his best years. I see a Bouwmeester/Hamhuis sort of player. Could be a top 2 guy, but probably a top 4 guy. Still early and I don't want to pigeonhole him but that's what I gather right now.

A couple of years ago it looked like Day was going to be high-end offensive force. Apparently, he no longer projects to be an offensive wiz.

I think this next season in the O will be really tell tale for his development. If he begins to dominate a bit and throw up bigger point totals in his draft year, I think we'll all feel more comfortable projecting him to be a legit point producer in the show. If his offence stalls, then I think the J-Bo, Hammer comparisons will likely be most apt.

D are so much more difficult to accurately project offence for than F. I'm in full-blown wait-and-see mode (for another year) before feeling confident enough to project his pro totals with any sort of accuracy. In a similar situation with Kylington at this year's draft. Need a bit more time before I'm ready to close the door on his potential.

You have to have a lot more pieces in place than simply being a great skater to get exceptional status from the CHL.
