Great 1-2 punch down the middle . Not sure what you do with Draisaitl (can you afford the 3, could he become a winger?) . Yakupov is expendable IMO(easily) but I might keep him though and maybe trade a Hall or Eberle (good return and create cap room) but you have to be careful not to reproduce the Pittsburgh dilema(all C no $ for wings)

If Arizona gets Hanifin , they might consider an OEL trade , which would greatly stabilize Edm D .

I would NOT jump the gun on a G . Look what Miller did for Vancouver . They will have to discover a Mrazek,Lack ....

Sooo many options , it will be a treat to follow boys :-)
I highly doubt the yotes go after a D, thats the one position they are fine.

Their C is awful, so i'd be highly suprised if they don't take Strome.

Dobber it would be interesting to know which vet goalies dont have NTCs, though with adding McDavid you might see veterans actually wanting to go to Edmonton now.

Really too bad for Arizona, was hoping they could get an actual franchise player, Edmonton has wasted so many high picks and now they get the Golden Boy.
I think this is what Chicago needs to do, they proved what Raanta and Darling can do in net for them. As much as I would like for Chicago to trade sharp etc. I really want Crow and Versteeg off this team with Rosey retiring.

I agree. I think they are going Strome too. I can see ARI, TOR, CAR and NJ all needed forwards more than D, but...

How about a move with Anaheim?

John Gibson and one of their good young D-Man to Edmonton?

Maybe we want a Darling . There are 100 guys who can be an NHL goalie (I heard this here before). Gibson would not be better than Dubnyk/Scrivens if the D is not stabilized . Nurse/Klefbom will help soon . I like ideas like Michalek .

Also , I agree that a C would be better for Arizona but maybe, just maybe they'd like to be very low in the standings again next year to grab a Matthews ... (Full rebuild) OEL ... Just shooting from the hip here . I agree that OEL to Edm is probably a pipedream .

Arizona is definitely grabbing Strome. They will be a lottery team in the Matthews draft no matter who they get in this draft.

Stone, OEL, Gormley...they need forwards badly.

You're probably right but you don't think that Arizona wouldn't stop and think for :

To Arizona: Hall + Edm other 1st rounder

    To Edmonton : OEL

    I think they might .

How about this boys (and girls):

    To Pitt:
    Hall

    To Edm:
    Sutter
    Pouliot

I'm thinking that Hall could be the guy who should get traded (injury risk and all)

Nashville definitely has a lot of depth on defense. Neil Parker in the ramblings today seems pretty high on Ekholm. Jones would be the most ideal target, however. Maybe RNH for Jones?
I agree with the Jones for Nuge swap. Jones is a cornerstone to build on and could have the vet D mentioned above (Ehrhoff Franson) he wouldn't be completely thrown to the wolves. Nashville is still deep on D and need a centre badly. Though with Weber being out for a few games Nashville might see Jones in a top pairing and would not want to trade him. (heck maybe they'd trade Weber instead)

I'm starting to feel like HF Boards here (sorry ). But the Oilers need a goalie and Anderson popped into my head. The Sens don't need a center, so there's a big flaw. Do you have any ideas (without such a big flaw?)
This is my opinion and thats all it is...horrible trade. just horrible. Aging injury prone not that good a goalie for 2 former 1st overall draft picks in the past few years? wow dobber.

Can't see Arizona going from ( before tonight ) potentially getting McDavid to add to OEL in Arizona, to ( tonight ) losing out on McDavid, then move OEL and essentially having neither player? Man, that would kill the fan base that they have and the team. That won't be happening. Even if they get a desirable return, I just can't see it...

leon draisitl, penguins 1st rounder (as high as 15th overall) + another pick + another pick/prospect for OEL. theres no point for arizona to keep OEL if they arent going to be competitive in 2 years as he only has 4 years left on his deal. i doubt they get an offer as good as edmonton will likely be willing to offer.
