More of a overall question. Do you feel it's better for the fantasy championship rounds to be this week or the week before the final regular seasons week of games? Our league's championship goes this week but I don't think we'll see many of the stars (Ovi, Crosby, etc.) play much, if at all, on Saturday.

Assuming that Ekblad doesn't reach 40pts this season (the cut-off to be considred a rookie in our league for defencemen), would he be a better keeper rookie than Granlund (C), Lindholm (C) or Toffoli (RW)?

For the league in my sig.
    Weekly H2H points only (Year 9 - 2015-16)
    12 teams limited keeper (keep 6 + 1 Rookie)
13 round draft - Unlimited Trades - No Waivers - No IR
4 Team Playoffs (last 2 reg. season weeks)
Rookies are 23 years old or younger in the draft year and never reached 60pts (forward), 40pts (defense), 25 wins (goalie)

    Start : C RW LW Utility D D G
    Points : A - G = 1 pt W = 2 pts SO = 1pt

    C - S.Stamkos, J.Thornton, K.Turris, D.Stepan
    LW - O.Palat, B.Saad, A.Burakovsky
    RW - B.Wheeler, T.Toffoli, C.Atkinson
    D - E.Karlsson, S.Gostisbehere, C.Fowler, A.Ekblad, A.Larsson
    G - C.Hellebuyck, D.Dubnyk, A.Niemi, K.Lehtonen

How do you see M.Nieto next year and beyond? Will he be top-6 in SJ? What's his upside?

Do you think Semin can come back to some kind of form next year in CAR or anywhere else???

    Thanks for doing this!

in the UHL league i will have a pick in the 4-5 range and i believe in the 11-13 range.

my competitors will read this but it's pretty obvious who i take with 4th. and i'm not too concerned with my later pick either since there are a lot of players in this years draft that can be selected in that range.

i've retooled this year to help me compete in the near future, so immediate production isn't that necessary.

skater cats are: G, A, PPP, SHP, GWG, PIM, +/, SOG, Hits, Blks, FOW

Centers are valued a bit higher since they produce in FOW. D are generally the least valuable, in most cases if they make more than 2-3M they aren't worth their contract. C > W> D, but upside is what i am most interested in.

Who would you target with the 11-13th pick?

and with my 4th overall (barring a lottery miracle, could drop as low as 5th overall) who would you take? i already know who i will pick if i get 4th, but 5th is a little tricky.

obviously the real nhl draft will affect who i draft but any input is appreciated

    Hi Dobber,

Thanks for taking the time to help us see the light!

Quick question, what do you see Jiri Hudler do next year. I'm pretty certain we will not see another 70 pts + campaign, but is exepecting around 65 pts reasonnable ? I'm thinking of keeping him on my 15 keeper roster.

    Thank you!

Crosby, Tarasenko, Stone, Scheifele, Brassard, Zibanejad, Fiala *could easily sub in Saad if you don't feel comfortable keeping a top prospect

They'll try to have Miller and his big contract as their No.1. Kinda like with Pavelec, they'll just keep throwing him out there until they start going every second game with he and Lack. Meanwhile, Markstrom may not clear waivers this time so the three-headed monster to start, and then a trade. Likely Markstrom goes and is a backup somewhere else. Or he crashes and burns again

I guess what would be most helpful is answering this: For team and league in my signature, can you rank the order you would keep players? Maybe rank the top 8 keepers?

I'm thinking something like Seguin, Giroux, Kane, Subban, Price, Hall, Pacioretty, Carlson.

I feel like MaxPac should maybe be bumped up though, as he's such a beauty in our league setup.
    Price
    Seguin
    Giroux
    Subban
    Kane
    Holtby
    Carlson
    OEL

Then Hall and Pacioretty. But D and G should be the keeper priority as they are harder to fill

    Cedric Paquette
    Adam Lowry
    Leo Komarov
    Anders Lee
    Johan Larsson

2-Can we expect a bounce back from Boedker next year (say 55 pts?) or Arz will be to bad to warant keeping him?

Cedric Paquette - should be a depth guy, top third liner, 45 points Helm type production. But we've seen that he has some upside (but we also saw that from Helm at times, too)
Adam Lowry - has upside for scoring line, but seems to have found a niche on a checking line. He's young though, so give this several years before deciding for sure.
Leo Komarov - 30 or 35 point player. I don't see any upside
Anders Lee - should be a consistent 55-point player as early as next year. But tremendous upside. Could even get 60+ on the second line, or 75 as a first-line staple.
Johan Larsson - getting a long look on a scoring line, otherwise I'd have said he's another Paquette. One to watch. But with Buffalo, can anyone get 45 points without McDavid?

    2. Yes, I think he can do it. If 50 is your keeper line, then I'd keep him.

For my final 3 keepers I am leaning towards Hammond (G), Hutchinson (G) and Schultz (D) but for a rebuilding team would you keep Ennis, Zadorov, Gardiner or Pulkinnen over any of those three?
I would keep Gardiner and Ennis over those goalies (keep Schultz) and then work on trades to get a goaltender. You won't win without a goalie, and those three you have right now may not combine for 25 wins next year. All three have to go, and you have to get another one (or two...or three)

Thanks for answering to our questions Dobber!

For team and league in sig. Dillemma: I have to make room for Kuznetsov who won't be farm eligible in our league any more after this season (more than 80 NHL games played).

Here's the question: it's a full keeper - who do I drop for Kuz? It's a contending team and I'm not too much into potential, but I can't drop Kuznetsov, can I?

    It probably comes down to
-J.Staal (good peripherals though, centres are a commodity in our league - but what's his outlook?)
-Downie (won me the PIMs most weeks, but will he be more disciplined as he was told to be?)
-Myers or Hamonic (both solid multi cat wise and I like their situations).
-Or is Sharp already washed up and should be my choice?

    Thanks a lot!
