It's funny because it's the team in front of the goalie that stinks - Price would have a hard time hovering above a .900 sv% on that team.

EDM should be looking to shore up their D and acquiring veteran forwards who can teach their kids how the game should be played.

That's exactly the kind of player the Leafs need. I think Eberle's name gets tossed around so much because of the Oilers' "big three" he's the "most moveable". Not sure he makes sense there though. I'm thinking a defenseman would be getting discussed here. Unlikely to see a deal regardless.

Montreal is a good team but they are no where near as good as they are right now without Price. For arguements sake, if Price was on the oilers i could see them being a playoff team. shocked that Price has never won the vezina but this year will be his first of many.

I think Bernier has the potential to be a very good goalie, not elite, but above average. However if there was once place he could go, where he would get less support and worse defensive play than Toronto, Edmonton is it. I think I'd feel pretty bad for him if this happens….

It's not like Toronto has done much defensively to help him yet he has done quite well there...

Without knowing the other side of the deal, it's hard to really say how good this looks. I do think Bernier would be a solid addition in Edmonton though.

This is the first year where he's put it together start to finish. Always seems like he has one really bad stretch or an injury. Knock on wood.

Ok, I was exaggerating a bit - but my point is EDM has to stop trading for new goalies. A goalie's performance varies drastically based on the team in front of him. See Dubnyk this year.

And a teams performance can vary drastically based on the goalie playing behind them too. If you can improve your goaltending (something Edmonton has been trying to do since Roloson left, and Khabibulin wasn't the answer) then you have to seriously look at it. It's not easy finding a legit starter, especially one with a lot of quality years in front of him like Bernier does and if the opportunity is there to get him, I would hope MacT would take a serious run at him.
