Edmonton has lots of good young D coming down the pipe. Being patient and letting them come along is the key. What they don't have is a goalie. Brossoit looks good but he looks good in the AHL. Big difference between the AHL and the NHL as we have seen with many so far.Originally Posted by yougo

While Scrivens/Fasth are a long ways from being good NHL starters, they both put up good numbers before coming to Edmonton. Scrivens save percentage in 51 NHL games before becoming an Oiler, he had a save percentage of .917. The Oilers big problem is that they have terrible defensemen and very few of their forwards have a clue on how to play on the defensive side of the puck. Outside of Gordon, Hendricks and RNH, the rest of the forwards are very bad defensively.

Leafs are not shopping Bernier and likely won't trade him, but there has been some interest expressed and Toronto remains willing to listen
