    Edmonton has lots of good young D coming down the pipe. Being patient and letting them come along is the key. What they don't have is a goalie. Brossoit looks good but he looks good in the AHL. Big difference between the AHL and the NHL as we have seen with many so far.

    While Scrivens/Fasth are a long ways from being good NHL starters, they both put up good numbers before coming to Edmonton. Scrivens save percentage in 51 NHL games before becoming an Oiler, he had a save percentage of .917. The Oilers big problem is that they have terrible defensemen and very few of their forwards have a clue on how to play on the defensive side of the puck. Outside of Gordon, Hendricks and RNH, the rest of the forwards are very bad defensively.

    Obviously a lot can change before tomorrow's deadline passes, but it doesn't look like this will happen:
