Default Days on the waiver wire

    Gentlemen,

What is an appropriate amount of days a player should be on the waiver wire after being dropped?

Our league currently has a 1 day waiver, but are looking to increase it to 2-3 days.

    Curious what you guys use.

The day he is dropped + 2 full days.
    In Yahoo! choose "2 days".

And it can be a very long time.

    For example,
If the Puckers drop Michael Grabner on Monday morning.
He'll sit on waivers for the two FULL days of Tuesday & Wednesday.
A team with a claim would be awarded him in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

And, as part of "Thursday transactions", Grabner would be available on a new team's roster until FRIDAY! (if league Add/Drop settings are: "Daily - Tomorrow").
I think he'd be available for use on Thursday if the league Add/Drop settings are "Daily - Today". (Daily: Today means you can pick a guy up at 6:44pm and get him into your line-up for a 7pm game same day FYI)

So "TWO" is plenty long enough.

Yep, I am with P7 ... in both my Yahoo leagues we use 2 days for our waiver period, one is "daily-tomorrow" and one is "daily-today". It is a long enought time that everyone in the league should get a chance at to see who hits waivers.

48 hours is usually the default and I believe is used pretty universally.
