Default Who Is Really to Blame for Zac Rinaldo?

With a lengthy suspension on the horizon, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone defending Zac Rinaldo's hit on Kris Letang. But can there be further blame to dish out?

Of course he is. But is there blame in the knowledge of what happens when he's in the lineup?

My aunt and uncle know his parents quite well. I can try and get a scoop on your question.

GMs are responsible for player acquisition. Owners give tacit approval.

There would be no discussion of the Cooke's et al of the NHL, otherwise.

So because Pitts had a grinder in it allowed Rinaldo to put his shoulder between the numbers on Letangs back driving him into the boarders? Rinaldo had time to even count to 58 before hitting Letang. Rinaldo is to blame for Rinaldo. This is like saying because Clarkson is in the Leafs lineup, everyone should be prepared for him to leap off the bench.

Management and the coach are responsible for Rinaldo, not Rinaldo. He is who he is. He was hired by the Philadelphia Flyers. They knew what they were getting when they signed him. There were no surprises here. They knew exactly what could happen with this guy at any time, and that will be proven when he dresses up for another game.

Better stated than my post. Agreed.

First off, there is absolutely no justification for Rinaldo's hit. Not here, nor in the article.

Second, calling Farnham a "grinder" suggests he's not an enforcer. That's enormously misleading. 41 AHL fights, and 4 NHL fights in 11 games is a goon, not a "grinder."

Third, I blame the Flyers - mostly Berube - for Rinaldo. Saying you blame Rinaldo for Rinaldo is obvious. But going off of what we already know of Rinaldo, at some point, someone has to ask, "Why do the Flyers keep playing him?"

Because that is what poorly managed teams do.

    It's a societal problem.

But seriously, when they're they're holding his hearing they should play the clip and pause it at right around a second or two before he collides with (the obviously vulnerable) Letang.

Then someone should turn to Rinaldo and say "So, tell us Zac, what exactly were you thinking right about then?"

Along the same thread, I'm sure you think girls "ask for it" when they wear skirts, just as the Penguins "asked for it".

I don't blame Berube for playing him. I blame management for signing him in the first place.
