Just caught this.....that's ballsy man, but it could work out for ya. At least you put your money where your mouth is haha

The whole Minny team has been inconsistent and whoever gets the crease should be fine if they begin playing better.

This is where my thoughts are on this subject. I own both Kuemper and Dubnyk in a couple of leagues, but am silently hoping Kuemper pulls it together for the second half.

I'm not sure where all the optimism surrounding Kuemper is coming from. The guy has been brutal this year. I predict that the Wild will see what they have in Dubnyk this year and then either look to resign him next year or look for a better option if Dub falls on his face (someone like Niemi, for example). I don't see Kuemper being the long term solution there one way or another, if I owned him I'd be looking to sell as soon as he puts together a couple of good games.

Should've made this a poll. I think Kuemper will eventually take back the lion's share of starts, but it's going to flip-flop based on results in the near term.

Kuemper has been sent to the AHL for a conditioning stint so in the short-term Dubnyk will have the opportunity to snag the starting job.

Dubnyk's next 1-2 starts will be very important IMO to who is the starter for the rest of the year. If Dubnyk wins both he'll be in control but a bad loss or two and Kuemper will get another opportunity.

    That's an interesting move.

Kuemper filled in admirably for Dubnyk last game and looked good, so not sure why they'd send him for a "conditioning stint" out of the blue like that.

Oh well, as a Dubbie owner I'm not complaining!

Surprised this isn't something we see more of, just planting the guys in the minors on "conditioning assignments."

I think they want him to play there to get his confidence back. He's been very inconsistent and seems to not be prepared mentally for a bad goal or two. Unless Dunbyk stinks real bad, I expect Kuemper in the AHL for the full 2 weeks allowed for such stints.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

They'll roll Dubnyk for a while but my hunch is Kuemper wins the job back by seasons end.

The team is making a run with Dubie right now... can't see it changing for the forseeable future.

As I wrote in my Capped article last week, I think this is a great opportunity for Dubnyk in Minnesota. He's a UFA at the end of the year, so he's taking this as an audition for a new contract next year. If he plays well enough (and right now, I think he's doing just that) I can see Minny signing him to a new deal, buying out Backstrom (who has one year left on his current deal) and letting Kuemper play as a 1B to Dubnyk.

Dubnyk is HOT! He's now on a 4 game winning streak which included 2 shutouts and only 3 goals allowed. for the moment this is Dubnyk's team.
