Looks like Nylander for Captain is working better then I thought. I knew he'd be dynamite... but didn't expect McDavid and Eichel to be this quiet.

That USA vs RUS game should be a dandy, if Russia decides to actually play. They shouldn't have lost to the Czech's but I am sure the U.S. is not looking forward to another rematch with them this year.

Sweden shouldn't have too much trouble with Finland. The defending champs haven't had much bite this year and damn near found themselves in the relegation round.

Canada should be able to handle Ehlers, Bjorkstrand and the pesky Danes.

The Czech's and Slovaks should be an entertaining game but I think the Czechs should be able to take them.

Some fantastic matchups for sure. I always root for SLovakia to win that matchup, but it could go either way. Sweden should win, but who knows. Finland is a strange team. The only real gimme is Canada vs Denmark. What a great story for Denmark this year!

Did my usual "End of round double-check" where I revisit all the stats (I usually just take game summaries and add them, but instead I used the stats per team and looked at each individual to double check). I do one at the end of the tournament as well.

Fun fact : Up to now no USA goalie has been credited with a loss, but that should be coming soon...

What an exciting game between Russia and the USA. USA was soooo good 5 on 5 but took so many dumb penalties and it cost them.

He was fantastic today. Americans should have easily won that game, but that's what happens in these 1 game matches. This paves the way for an easier trip to the gold medal game for Canada, but there are no guarantees yet.

Pretty sure it's Czech-Slovakia on the Canadians side. Sweden gets a rematch with Russia if they win so the "easier" road is theirs. Canada arguably already got the easiest road.

Ah, I misunderstood. I thought 'because' Russia won they now got Czech/Slovakia. I guess it didn't really make too much of a difference then.
