10Keeper help!? First time doing Baseball Keepers

10keeper thing again guys.
So my team is:
Batters:
Lucroy, Pearce, Carpenter, Donaldson, Baez, Holliday, Trumbo, Braun, Cruz, Brantley, Altuve, Staton
Pitchers:
Weaver, Zimmerman, McCarthy, Pineda, McHugh, Iwakuma, Fiers, Wacha, Samardzja, Sanchez, Bailey
Relief Pitchers:
Cishek, Doolittle.

My obvious Keepers are Donaldson, Stanton, Altuve, Brantley, and Holliday. But I don’t know the other 5. Braun, Trumbo, Cruz, Lucroy, Carpenter, Iwakuma, Zimmerman, Pineda, Wacha, Fiers, Samardzja.

I’m keeping 3 OF already, so do I keep a 4^th with Braun, Cruz, or Trumbo? I think I should keep a pitcher but do I go young with Pineda, or Wacha? Or reliable with Zimmerman or Iwakuma?

Not sure why you aren't making Samardzija a gauranteed keeper.

Here are my keeper considerations for you:
Batters:
Lucroy, Donaldson, Baez, Braun, Cruz, Brantley, Altuve, Stanton
Pitchers:
Weaver, Zimmerman, McHugh, Iwakuma, Wacha, Samardzja

Who I'd likely keep:
Lucroy, Donaldson,Brantley, Altuve, Stanton, Braun,Cruz, Samardzija,Weaver,Zimmerman

I'd love to keep Mchugh and Baez tho so a little more research would need to be done and depending on training camps etc

My 10 would be Stanton, Altuve, Brantley, holiday, Donaldson, carpenter, samardz, Zimmerman, Braun, and flip a coin between Cruz (not sure if he will do THAT again), bailey, or weaver

Look at your ten keepers as you would the first ten rounds of a draft. Don't go too heavy in any one area, but don't neglect anything.

I would keep Stanton, Altuve, Donaldson, Braun and Brantley regardless of format.
Zimmermann is the only sure keeper on your staff in my opinion.
Without knowing how heavy pitching counts in your league, I would suggest keeping Samardzija and Fiers as well with Lucroy and Baez rounding out your ten.

The main thing to remember about anybody you drop is that you can pick them up again assuming you value them more than your opponents. For this reason I wouldn't keep McHugh or Pineda although I like them both, I would think I could get them later in the draft for cheaper than a keeper spot.

Weaver and Holliday are both on the decline so I wouldn't keep them, but if they get passed on by everyone else they're great values that late in the draft as well.

So our keepers are actually just 7 now. We’ve changed it to a rotisserie style with a game limit on each position. I’m not happy with the fact we changed everything pretty much, but I won last yr (1^st yr) so I can’t complain too much.

Batter Categories:
R, HR, RBI, SB, Avg, OPS
Pitching:
W, ERA, WHIP, K/9, SV+H

With 5/11 cats now pitching, I think I need to upgrade some pitchers. Now I would say my keepers now are:
Stanton, Altuve, Donaldson, Brantley, Braun, Zimmerman, Lucroy.

But I have offers on the table for some solid pitchers.
Bumgarner + 20^th round for 9^th round (2^nd redraft) + random player
Scherzer + 20^th round for 10^th round (3^rd) + Random
Grienke 22th round for 10^th round (3^rd) + Ranom
Hamels + 22^nd round for 14^th (7^th) + Random.

Whoever I get replaces Lucroy in my keepers, and I have a low chance at trading Lucroy away in all honesty.

I would hop on the trade for Bumgarner personally. That's the best deal, you don't have a definite 7th keeper in my opinion, and giving up a 9th round pick for a second round talent is a bargain.

Well, it's really more like Lucroy + 2nd for Bumgarner.

I think I'd do Hamels for the 7th. I think he and Bumgarner won't be much apart. Wins are so volatile, and the rate stats should be similar. Then you keep your high picks.

I completely forgot I started this thread haha. I ended up doing the Hammels trade. I’m in the midst of talking with another GM so I can try and ship out Cruz, Holiday, Samardijza, and Iwakuma. Hopefully I can do a package of 2 and get back a 7^th rounder anyways. That would be ideal, but I don’t see that happening really.
