Add that Gibson is coming off a strong performance, easy call for BB to roll Gibson tonight and save Andersen for tomorrow.
Pittsburgh and Chicago are now considered weak sisters?

Pittsburgh. Hometown game. Not a B2B

Chicago. Not a B2B. BB on record the day before saying he wanted to get Gibson into a game soon.

Tokarski started the first game of a B2B against EDM before Price played Calgary. So I guess Tokarski is now the starter in MTL.

Despite your reductio ad absurdum with Tokarski, I'd say that Gibson right now is 1A. There will not be a "starter" in Anaheim this year in the same way Carey Price is a starter in MTL. Still, all things considered, Gibson will be given more opportunities than Anderson. He's the one Anaheim "secretly" wants to win in this goalie battle.

I believe that the ducks brass really wants Gibson to emerge as their guy to fulfill the golden boy tag, but I don't think they are fanboys in so much that they would push him into the role if he shows not be ready at this point or behind Andersen in development.

I agree. Anaheim wants Gibson long term. No team wants to lose good assets for nothing. So Anaheim also wants to play Andersen more, showcase him, and trade him. Andersen is the 1A.

More than any of those things, the ducks want to win a cup. They will go with whichever goalie provides then the best chance for them. If it so happens that they feel Andersen is better suited to help them reach that goal this season, so be it. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that the team needs Gibson to emerge as #1 this season.

I'm no goalie expert, but just from watching them play, I'd say Gibson is better- right now.

1.69 GAA, 0.94 Sv%, 6 Wins, and Andersen hasn't let in any junk goals like

    this:http://video.ducks.nhl.com/videocent...014020007-65-a

    or this:http://video.ducks.nhl.com/videocent...014020007-70-a

both of which were stoppable. Good shooters, sure, but both stoppable and both stops Andersen would AND have made.

The bolded is inferred from your conclusion.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Not sure which is more funny...the Gibson fluffers or those falling all over themselves trying to minimize what Gibson has done

I see you know how to use formatting. Impressive.

Though not as impressive as Gibson tonight.

Agreed. I don't know how people could speak in absolutes on either side of this debate and not see their foolishness. A lot of posts in this thread are akin to things that would be posted over at HFBoards.

If you read this thread, you'll see that it's mostly (only?) the Gibson proponents who speak with high degree of certainty. I have never been as certain of Andersen (even though his record is better and lenghier right now) going forward. A lot will be decided this season and I keep pointing out to all those who proclaim Gibson as the new coming of Roy that it's WAY too soon to make conclusions.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
