No love for Florida

It is that time of year where just about every team can make the playoffs.
So why is there no love for Florida?

They now have Vokoun, Jokinen and some decent young players. I am not saying they are going to make the playoffs but if people are speculating that LA, Chicago, Boston and Montreal could make it - why not the Panthers too? I have 4 Florida players on my roster (Jokinen, Horton, Bouwmeester, and Murphy) so I am hoping Florida can become a legitimate NHL team this year.

Anyone have an assessment of this team?

i think they have just a good a chance as any of the other teams in their division. when you look at the rest of the teams only washington has done anything significant.

They\'ve gotten solid goaltending(provided he can stay healthy) which should help stabilize the team, they\'ve also added somewhat of an extra scoring threat in Dvorak who also brings experience, not to shabby. Jokinen is solid, Horton and Bouwmester are getting better, what\'s not to like. Plus they seem like they have a fresh feel to them while the rest of the teams, Atlanta, Tampa and Carolina are all pretty much the same as last year. Ya they\'re good teams but i like the way this team looks. Confidence is a huge factor and maybe these moves will instill it into the rest of the club. To me I think they have just as good a chance as anyone else in their division to grab the 3rd spot in the conference.

who knows, maybe there will be some rat throwing contests come the playoffs lol.

What about Stephen Weiss? I have him on my keeper team. Any thoughts on his possible point totals for next year.

Florida is my sleeper team.

I really like the defense they are building there (very solid top four), and Jokinen is on the verge of a couple 100 point seasons.

jokinen has been money in the bank as a \"sleeper\" these past few seasons... sad though... I think word is out on him being one of the best centers in the league.
