    Default Buy-low Options?

I'm a fantasy football newbie so looking for all the advice I can get.

I'm looking to make trades and aiming to target some buy-low candidates. Right now I'm pondering McCoy and Brady. Are they worth gambling on?

My team right now, in a 12 team league:

    2QBs: Romo, G.Smith
    2RBs: Lacy, McKinnon, Ingram, Gerhart
    2WRs: D. Bryant, J. Gordon, A. Brown, R. Wayne, S. Watkins, E. Decker
    1TE: Kelce, Witten
    1WR/RB/TE:

    How do I get better?

    I made a Lacy/Witten for McCoy offer.
I made a Witten for A.Petersen offer (who knows what could happen).
I am thinking about a G.Smith/Decker or Witten offer for Brady?

    Any other ideas or feedback?

I wouldn't touch Brady right now. Mccoy is a good buy-low option, although I would try to keep lacy. I think Andre Johnson is a great guy to target right now; top10 WR upside. As far as RBs go, there really aren't a ton of guys who qualify as both "buy-low" and who I'm willing to spend assets on right now. Maybe Matt Forte if you can get him. Montee Ball is another, and to an extent Andre ellington.

I like mounD's pick of Ellington.
He's got all the tools and Arizona will be dangerous in the future if/when everybody is healthy.

Calvin Johnson might be at his lowest, but won't be easy to nab.
Heck, Stafford will have better games going forward too.

    I wouldn't go near Brady.
Witten for AP might be an okay gamble, but I can't see an AP owner giving him up (either gonna get value or go down with him).

I actually really like the Witten / AP gamble if the Peterson owner is in dire TE situation. Witten is basically a drop for me in 10-team standard leagues right now, so I'd trade him for basically anyone who's worth a roster spot at this point. Maybe check out Josh Gordon's owner?

So I'm glad I got some feelers out on Brady. Would you guys still not prefer Brady over G.Smith?

Also, in making a pitch for Ellington, what would you offer? (team above).. I guess also same for Forte?

Edit: just noticed its the same owner! for both Forte and Ellington

First is this a dynasty league? Second, an experienced GM owning McCoy or Brady should be looking to sell at full value right now, not "sell low". There's a difference. Selling McCoy low would mean you could get him for Rashad Jennings and John Brown. Whereas selling McCoy at full value would mean a player like Julio Jones is being targeted.

Again, I assume you are in a dynasty league?

#1... good luck buying low, particularly in keeper leagues... I offered Jimmy or mega for McCoy and for Lacy and Forte and just about any RB that is a "buy low"... I am convinced that "buy lows" do not exist in football.... there is wayyyy too much info out there and the thousand articles saying buy low or dont sell will screw you... for any name , you WILL pay full market value. Unless your dealing with the league Taco.

#2. Def stay away from Brady... I would even say stay away from Ellington (injury prone and small frame)

#3... your teams pretty good... Kelce is a stud, dont trade him.... your WR's are beasts .... Romo will put up his points... Your Rb's seem the weak link, but Lacy will only go up in value, Ingram when he returns will be dangerous, and I expect the albino rhino(gerhart) to improve with Bortles calling the shots....I would not want to play your team in the playoffs( you just gotta get there obviously)

IF you are going to make any moves... I would move Brown(red hot) for a top 5 RB. You can afford to due to ur depth at WR and you get Gordon back soonish.

I just traded Khiry Robinson in a 10-team PPR league for Sammy Watkins. My other RBs are: Jamaal Charles, Le'Veon Bell, Isaiah Crowell, Lorenzo Taliaferro.

WRs: Antonio Brown, Victor Cruz, Steve Smith, Andre Johnson, Sammy Watkins, Kendall Wright -- I'm looking to move some WRs now for a solid RB2 I can flex, and use for bye weeks. Montee Ball is my target. Lesean McCoy is probably another guy I'll be targeting.

EDIT: @ OP ... don't trade Antonio Brown. This guy could legitimately finish the season as the #1 WR.

All this means it's time to trade Khiry Robinson while he's got some value for this week. Look to at eam struggling a bit with their RBs, and collect a nice player with some upside. Khiry will be relegated to a few touches per game once Ingram returns. Plus, Thomas is already out-snapping him, he's not getting any receiving work against either Thomas/Cadet. He's basically only got value for this week. Get someone with value going forward.

Great insight guys. A follow up on one of my offers. The AP owner came back with Petersen and Hawkins for Witten and Sammy Watkins. My initial hunch is too steep. Whereas simply Witten for AP I would gamble on. Advice?

Unless I am missing some recent headline, AP is worthless in redraft leagues and bordering on worthless in dynasty.

Fair enough! I wasn't too sure how the nfl would go about this or the legal system I guess. Was thinking maybe he's given the celebrity treatment and back on the field this year.
