    Default E. Kane for Lucic

We are in a salary cap league, so this plays into my reticence to actually trade. I think I deserve more than just Lucic right? Lucic probably outpoints E. Kane in my opinion though. Here's my logic, E. Kane is younger, cheaper, has a higher ceiling at this point, and could possibly get moved. Should I counter with a Lucic + pick or minor player? Or just stay put.

I'd just walk away on this one, unless you're competing. Evander Kane is ready to prove people wrong, and seriously, the guy is only 23 with ELITE potential. He could be a top5 player in multicat leagues if he puts it all together. I'm still willing to believe that could happen. Just recently purchased E. Kane in a ROTO-style league for Kuznetsov + Ehlers, and I felt that was highway robbery.

Yeah, this is what I'm thinking too. I won't be competing this year, so I don't think Lucic is enough to warrant moving Kane

I'd want a kicker of some sort with Lucic. It wouldn't have to be a big one as I think they will end up being close in overall points but I definitely think EKane still has more to show.

may as well hold Kane here, I am buying into the whole Kane is going to be the king of the world less and less every season but even saying that he isn't that far off of Lucic right now and the cap hits probably make them close to even

You think Lucic is going to blow up and score 60+ anytime soon? Exactly. Just the fact that Kane could conceivably score 40-goals, or 60+ points that makes it easier to stick with him here. He puts up SOG like no other player in the NHL at 5v5, and if the bounces start going his way (and the PP assignments / top-line minutes are consistent) then Evander Kane could be a legit star in this league. I know people say this stuff about Kane every offseason, but c'mon ... the guy is only 23 years old, and it typically takes more time for power-forwards to find their groove. He's already got a 30-goal season under his belt, and he should continue to progress with a whole lot to prove in WPG this season.

Agree with the rest, keep Kane and stand pat. In this format while both are physical Kane will put up a wealth of SOG and once he starts accumulating more points he will leave Lucic in the dust. No deal; explore other options not named Lucic.
