for

Meszaros, Turco, a keeper spot and a 10th round pick

This will allow me to keep 12 players for this year
Most Likely:
Spezza, Marleau, Richards, O. Jokinen, Kovalchuk, Radulov, Afinogenov, Campbell, Bouwmeester, Turco, Biron and Lundqvist

My best choices other than Biron or Turco would be Kariya/Nagy/Meszaros

You have a strong team, but I dont really see what your getting out of the deal other than a roster spot...wouldnt you have been better off holding onto Hemsky and leaving your team as it was?

4 rw, 4 lw, 4c, 5d, 1 util, 2g + 5 bench spots, we\'re allowed 82 game per roster spot. I would have kept Hemsky over Afinogenov and no Turco. I wouldnt have kept Pitkanen either way.

At first look I thought you got robbed and then I kept formulating where the mistake was and I realize that losing a keeper spot would ultimately mean that you have to drop some pretty solid guys. Now depending on who will be available in the draft this could be a bad deal.

Why take Meszaros since you are just going to drop him anyway?

Pitkanen was your best defenseman so losing him over Jay or Campbell is a hit to your core.

i think i can trade meszaros. In order to get the keeper spot and turco I had to include pitkanen in the deal. I was also shopping him over the other 2. I really like him, but I want to win now.

If you can get a decent pick for Meszaros then you come out with a better goaltender in Turco and a slight loss in D and an extra Forward to keep while losing a little quality.

Seems pretty even but you should be better off for a year but in the long run he will be the winner of this deal. (unless the keeper spot is permanent which I am assuming its not.)

Big - I think I follow the logic.
Without the keeper slot, you would have potentially lost Hemsky anyway.
Don\'t lose sleep over Pitkanen. Campbell and Jay Bo will have much better +/- in addition to equal points.
Now you have a keeper slot but no clear cut keeper.
You look like you have 3 strong goalie candidates - somebody in your league must be hurting.
Maybe another trade might be in order?
