Ramirez for Cruz (SS Replacement)

Just traded Hanley Remirez for Nelson Cruz and now I’m trying to go buy a SS. My outfield is ridiculous now. A GM said Ian Desmond and Starlin Castro are for sale. What would it take to get a better SS? FA has a few of adequate ones available (Aybar, Peralta, JJ Hardy). Heres my team

Hate to say it, but I wouldn't have traded Hanley away for Cruz - I don't like the outlook for Cruz very much for the rest of the season. His earlier performance was unsustainable and Hanley should be the #2 SS going forward (should be.)

For the FA, I'd scoop Aybar for now but keep a close eye on Hardy to break out of his funk. You could also try to see if Castro or Zobrist is available for Carter or something like that.

I agree that the Hanley trade could be bad news but the dude has a bum shoulder this season. I can`t imagine Chris Carter can be very useful even with his current ``hot streak``. Aybar is the best of what you listed here but I would still rather have a different shortstop, I expect very little from him.

I was getting upset with Hanley being injured and missing games without going on the DL. I only check my roster early in the morning so by the time I saw he was out of the game it was too late. I was trying to trade hanley for a month but the teams I offered him to were not biting. Turns out one guy would have traded me Yu Darvish for him. That straight up annoyed me lol. Anyone like that rookie that just got called up?

Javier Baez? Yes, he should be really good next season, this year, expect numbers similar to JJ Hardy (of the past), but more K's. He probably has some of the best power from the middle infield position but he is very prone to the strikeout. If your in a Yahoo league, he should be a solid bench option in case he gets on a hot streak as he will be eligible at both SS and 2B
