I get your feelings of unease.

But who is next in line? One of the reasons I want them to go after Paps.

I have to say though, I'm not gonna bother arguing one way or another if that was a balk (i played baseball for 13 years and I still can't understand all the nuances of that rule), but that pick off got him out of what looked like was going to be another Dickey 30 pitch first inning.

Well, I got Travis at 2B from the waiver wire. Nice to have a Jay as another buddy of mine stockpiled the best ones. I hope the they can continue their solid start.

I am looking forward to seeing what Aaron Sanchez does tonight in his first career start. The kid has electric stuff and it should be interesting to see him throw in more than the 9th inning for a change.

This offense has been by far the most entertaining to watch for me in a long time. I've always been a fan of the sustained rallies vs. the dingers this team is typically built for. Hitting 4 homeruns doesn't win you ball games if they're all solo shots and the other team scores 5.

So far this season it’s been exactly what I was hoping for and exactly not what I was hoping for. Winning games the small ball way with 0HR, then games like last night where the offense bails out the pitcher (10-7 with 3 HR) but then the rookies having a rookie night. The Sanchez pitched game was one of the lows he sees this yr. Just the growing pains you’d expect.

From hitting position 1-6 this is prolly the scariest hitting team in the league. 2 35+ HR guys, a 30HR guy, a 30SB lead off, a 0.270 catcher, and a 25SB threat rookie with power. Like, who do you pitch around? You can’t. If I see a shutout game by the jays, the opposing pitcher had a gem of a game then.

Lots of my friends are Jays fans and are extremely high on Martin similar to Olympicgold calling him a .270 hitter. I have lower expectations for him. Before last season he had gone 5 straight years hitting .250 or lower......I actually think he will regress to a sub .250 hitter this year after getting his sweet contract.

    2009 - .250
    2010 - .248
    2011 - .237
    2012 - .211
    2013 - .226
    2014 - .290

Anyone else nervous every time Reyes has to throw to 1st? Which is alot of course!!! Good fielding shortstop, but I hate his unpredictable arm.
Donaldson looks to be fitting in nicely. Martin too.

If the pitching holds up, big if, this is looking like a fun season. Even if they this miss the postseason (bye bye Alex and Gibby), looks like an entertaining team thus far.
Man, so far, so good. I finally have him in my starting lineup and he contines to produce. Fun to watch!

I've been saying that to buddys for a couple weeks now. The guy is playing some unreal defense out there. Makes you wonder if Michael Saunders will get reinserted into the starting lineup when he returns from his injury.

I doubt it. From the LF position I don’t think they expect any offense considering they have Reyes, Bautista, Edwin, Donaldson, and even Travis hitting. Saunders may be tried at 1st instead of Smoak, but more than likely a DH position. This weekend in TB he’ll actually be set to return. My guess is Goins or Tolleson gets sent down.

I think if anything Pompey gets knocked off the starting lineup. He's really struggling at the plate and with the way Pillar is playing on both sides of the diamond I can't see how you can possibly justify benching him.

Pillar is interesting. He's definitely saved more runs than he's lost this season but the way he's playing right now reminds me a lot of Brett Lawrie's type of reckless attitude. He's go big or go home in the outfield because there have been a few times where he's tried to make a highlight reel catch on a hit that he had no business trying that stuff with. And he's run into the wall quite a few times needlessly.

PS I know Habs/Sens is on tonight but I have a feeling like tonight's Jays game is going to be a must-watch. The bad blood between Bautista and the entire Orioles team is starting to reach unsafe levels. But in all honesty, while I kind of wish Bautista would just put his head down and play the game, I didn't find myself disagreeing with anything he said in his post-game. Last year the Orioles were ragging on Stroman for throwing inside and now they claim that Bautista shouldn't be a jerk to this pitcher cuz he's a rookie? After he throws behind Bautista? Gimme a break.

And Adam Jones should know better than to open his mouth. If the roles were reversed I'm sure he'd do the same thing.

It’s one thing to go inside on a guy, but it’s another thing to go so inside the pitch is now on the outside of a player. Bautista’s stare down was so intimidating lol. It was like “Oh no you didn’t just throw behind me. Oh you did not just do that. I’m going yard on you MF”
