I don't know the numbers, but apparently Merrifield has more HR's with runners in scoring position than Vlad does.

Jose Bautista will sign a one-day contract so he can retire as a member of the Blue Jays, club announces. He’s going up on the Level of Excellence tomorrow.
I dont think he's HOF worthy, but a nice gesture by the Jays none the less.

I like when players sign one-day deals just to go into retirement as a member of a team they essentially became who they are with.

I'm all for it. Could have used his bat yesterday with all the runners in scoring position.

I'm at a point where I want a player to lean into an inside pitch with bases loaded and see if the ump just lets it go because it's a higher chance than them getting a hit.

    Romano - back last night
Matt Chapman - might be back tonight
Richards - Was supposed to pitch in last nights Bisons game. Might be back Friday
Chad Green - Supposed to pitch in tonights Bisons game.
Keirmeirer - Could be back this weekend without a rehab stint
Bo Bichette - DHing tonight for Bisons, should be SS tmo. Might be back Friday

I'm assuming Francis (RP), Schneider, and Lukes will replace Richards, Keirmeier, and Bichette. I don't know who comes out for Chad Green though. They might push him back for when the rosters expand.

Lukes and Jay Jackson are expected to be optioned by the Jays today. Third player is unclear as of now. These are to welcome back Richards, Kiermaier and Bichette. Bichette won't be activated until tmo though.

The Jays need Seattle to slow the f down. The Jays wont win a tie-breaker should it get to that point. H2H they are 3-3 but the 2nd tiebreaker is divisional record and the Jays are no where near Seattle for that tie-breaker mark.

Not happy the Jays are currently outside looking in but it is going to be a fun finish to the season. The triple-WC is excellent for Baseball.
Also, petition to move the Jays to the AL Central.

Ya they pretty much showed that during the game yesterday.

They theorized that the Jays are swinging too much at 50/50 balls in the zone and focusing on make contact over driving in runs. Which turns a strikeout into a double play. Toronto has hit into 0.81double plays a game, which is funny enough less than 2022 (0.84/game), but they are 27th in this stat (not good).

Jays are just not a smart hitting team, and I don't think they've been prepared for YEARS to hit certain pitchers. The amount of games where they were against a rookie and had no clue what was happening until the 7th inning was insane. Even in the Bautista, EE, Donaldson era, the big innings were those guys 2nd time around after collecting data themselves. But it just doesn't seem like they have a plan going into an AB.

Prolly due to the fact one of their hitting strategist coaches are tweeting Anti-Biden stuff 4minutes before first pitch. Clearly isn't invested fully into his job.
