Wonder if the return of Teoscar will pump this offense up.

Big difference when you remove Jansen and Teoscar and insert Tapia and Collins.

Warmer weather and the dome opening up in Toronto will help too.

I havent had the luxury of watching many games so far this year due to my work situation, but from what I did see early on when I was home for a break, I thought Collins hit the ball really well. It's been a good week since I've seen a game so maybe that's gone downhill. I don't know,

A quick comparison is Jansen has a higher WAR than Collins and Jansen has played 3 games and Collins 13.

Jansen is a better player all around than Collins. Collins is just a hard hitter, not a good hitter....He's not bad. He's a good player to have on the Jays as he has options, and is good enough for the majors as a backup catcher.

Real tough loss yesterday. The bullpen was saving them winning all those close games early on and now they can't survive a bad stretch.

The ejections were an absolute joke though. As Montoyo said why in God's name would they want to put someone on base?

What's going on with these guys... they've literally cratered the last month!

I know it's early but it sucks to be constantly chasing that wildcard spot from the get go

And it sucks to seemingly never have a year where both NYY and Boston suck at the same time.

Robbie Ray didn't make the trip to Toronto, which is different considering he would have been given the Cy Young ceremony if he did come. So clearly he's unvaccinated like the rumours were this offseason, likely a reason why Toronto didn't pursue him.

The bats have been much better lately and it's nice to see them on a 10-2 run. I just hate the frigging Yankees. Their injuries have been piling up along with missing the back half of their Opening Day bullpen (Chapman Greene Loasiga) and they haven't missed a beat.

Since April 22 they're 32-9. Like holy $hit. Matt Carpenter hasn't been able to hit for 3 years and has 4 homers in like 10 games!!

Jomboy did a breakdown of the Yankees picking up a Detroit rookie pitchers pitches. The pitcher would look at 3rd base when operating out of the stretch when he was throwing a fastball. He wouldn't look at 3rd if he threw offspeed. No one of the Tigers picked up this, and the pitcher gave up 10 runs in 1 inning. Yankees vet hitters are really showing their knowledge at hitting this yr. The second they didn't have someone on base vs this pitcher they were terrible.

Having hitters like Rizzo, Donaldson, and now Carpenter telling guys like Judge and Stanton pitchers tells has done wonders. However....like I said...if they can't pick up the pitchers tips, they don't hit.

Should be interesting once teams figure this out. And I think we give too much credit to teams seeing if they are tipping pitches because the Tigers had no idea what was happening but JomBoy did.

Gabriel Moreno called up and making his debut this weekend. I have to wonder if they're testing him out to see if Kirk can be expendable this season.

    IIIIIITTTSS TIMMMMEEEEEE

Ya there's a bunch of questions right now around the Jays catchers depth.

    - I'm assuming the timing of the call up is because he was hurt, so calling up Collins and then Moreno might be because of this.
    - I have a friend that works at SN and he was saying there's Jays insiders 'joking' about Kirk and Espinal on steroids. I wouldn't be shocked if a bunch of players during the strike went on a roids cycle as they had no CBA so no drug rules. Espy makes a ton of sense, the guys a unit right now. Kirk....could be a reason why he's done so well. And if the Jays reporters are joking about it, I'm sure teams have questions and might not trade for him based off this.
    - Moreno has shown little power this yr. Should be interesting to see if the warmer weather, different balls, and stronger lineup around him will give him a little boost.
    - Jansen could be out 4+ weeks. Online says the fifth metacarpal fracture takes 6weeks to heal. So even the length of the injury gives reason to bring Moreno up, and send him down once Jansen is healthy.
