I heard on a Toronto based radio talk show that at the start of the playoffs they wanted to limit Sanchez to one start per series.
So it is more strategic to start Stroman tonight so that he is available for a 7th game if there is a 7th game.
Using Sanchez tonight and then Stroman tomorrow would make it so that Sanchez would have more rest for game 7... but if they stick to only pitching him once in a series the way they have their starters set is more strategic.
How do you figure?
Offense - Bluejays
Pitching - Bluejays had the best starting rotation in the AL this season, and that was including when Cleveland had CC and DS in the lineup.
Defense - Probably a wash, both excellent.
On paper, Jays should come out on top, and the Vegas WS odds strongly in favor of Jays at the start of the series.
Gibby shaking up the order tonight, Bautista back to lead-off Carerra demoted to 8th.

NO IR
The Indians pitching (starting and bullpen) have silenced the Jays bats. They need to get it going offensively or this series will be over in no time. I think both starting pitching staffs have been damn good to this point, thus the little offense from both sides.

Never in my wildest imagination would I have seen the Jays only scoring 3 runs in the first 3 games against a massively depleted Indians rotation.
I was excited about my tickets for game 5... not looking promising right now with Kluber pitching tomorrow and the bats still silent.
This is just so disappointing.
The Indians rotation/bullpen has stepped up. Giving credit where it’s due.
I think Miller is living rent free in every blue jays head. They all knew they had to score before he came in and were swinging at the wrong things

I loved the lineup shake up that was done last night. Unfortunately didn't pay off.
It's really too bad. This could have been the TSN turning point of the series. If you had told me that the Indians starter was going to last 2/3 of an inning, and the opposing manager would be forced to fully tax his bullpen in game 1 of a 3-games-in-3-days series at home? What a lost opportunity.
The moment that stood out for me was when Bautista actually did something and led off with a single to start the inning, and we watched Donaldson, Edwin, and Tulo all pop out to the infield. Sorry to say it but when your big guns are shooting blanks that bad you just don't deserve to win.
We'll see if they can turn this around but I'm not holding my breath.
Welll.......if I want to try to get any positives out of what they have to do....
1. Kluber on short rest
2. Indians' bullpen has to be almost out of gas
3. Sanchez today, Estrada tomorrow vs a guy who has 1 career start
GO JAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a game! Sanchez was unflappable and JD was JD. But what about the emergence of Carrera!?! Everything that comes off his bat lately looks solid.
Can't wait for tomorrow... especially since I'll be there
Have an awesome time at the game! Definitely agree that there were some great performances.
Also beer is to be drunk, not used as a ball

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
A great all around game today. Sanchez was amazing and with the score 2-1, I thought they would leave him in for at least another inning. Glad we get to watch another one tomorrow.
