Some things to take from the road trip:
1- Pitching seems to be on track
2- Defense is on the decline, which is really bad news heading into these final 10 games
3- Hitting is unpredictable and very home run dependent
4- Going to come down to Baltimore or Toronto to make the playoffs. Looks like Detroit should make it with their better schedule (KC,CLE,ATL) so up to the Jays and O's to see who gets in
I think the Jays need to go 6-4 in the last 10 to clinch a WC spot, it won't be easy though.
How about the start of this Jays vs. Yanks game?? Wow!!
Who does CC Sabathia think he is?? Somebody should have drop kicked him, HaHa..

Fun game to watch until the 9th when Grilli got lit up. That would have been another amazing comeback.
Sounds like Travis and Benoit were both hurt in the Brawl, lets hope Travis isn't out longterm.

Well looks like somebody was right about the Red Sox taking the division. Should cruise to the World Series
EC did very well at leadoff during the Bautista injury, Travis coming back time. Bautista is an RBI, Homer threat, him at leadoff isn’t really ideal.
I like Ezequiel at lead-off because he has that speed, and can drop down a bunt if the bottom of the order gets on to set the table for the big boys. This is the lineup I like pretty much the most. Travis at 2nd hitting 9th or 1st (with EC hitting the other) is my Jays IDEAL lineup.
I only remember Big Ev saying that Boston is going to win the Division off offensive production. I don’t remember Iron Sheik even coming in and saying anything until like, June/July when the team was performing

It was actually August 17th at 11:17am (pg 147) the first comment on here by Iron Sheik. So a full 42days ago? And it was us talking about what team (Toronto vs Boston) was better at each position, don’t remember you saying they were going to win the division, let alone get to the WS.
I also don’t like when people come onto a Jays thread talking about how they are a RedSox fan. Go create a RedSox thread and talk on that.

I’m not opposed to JB in leadoff, but he’s done well behind EE for the last few games, and EC had a solid game last night. If it doesn’t work at all then I’d be happy with a mix up of the lineup.
The speed at 1st (if it’s EC) makes a JB double a scoring threat. The stolen bases, hit and runs and such don’t happen obviously often enough with the Jays to plan on it, but speed on bases help move runners around. But like I said above in this post, it’s working I’ll stick with it. It doesn’t, move it around.
Lead off really only matters once in a whole game anyways. EC could be hitting 9th, and after the first inning it doesn’t matter.

Benoit has a torn calf confirmed. So same thing as Cecil.
Cecil could have come back (reported) for the World Series if they got there. So 3weeks? But Cecil is younger, so who knows the timetable for Benoit. Out the regular season and Wild Card at the least I’d say

This is very disappointing....to think their main issue is scoring when they hd over 100 more runs than any other team last year.
Their other issue is the bullpen...which I'll never understand why they didn't address in the offseason.
It's hard not to just give Detroit the advantage now. Atlanta has nothing to play for and Detroit has an extra game in which Cleveland has even less to play for.
