Of course Atkins will say it's Schneider's decision. It's clearly not.

Once directives come down from above the way these new GM's are doing, you either do what they want or get fired. As a MLB manager, you are getting fired at some point normally, but sometimes you can at least control the exit.

I can see it being a situation where all year, the front office stressed trusting an analytics guy, and a time when Schneider went against him and it didn't work he got in trouble. Then come this Berrios game the analytics guy said this would work so Schneider did it knowing if he didn't, management would be upset. However, management didn't specifically say anything.

It also wasn't the reason they lost. It worked. They scored 2 runs....It's getting focused on way too much, and their hitting approach isn't being critiqued remotely enough.

I agree it's not the only reason they lost. There are multiple things to fix, and the coaching staff is also partly to blame. Contact and power are both needed.

Manoah's first start of Spring Training....
    1.2IP, 3H, 4ER, 2BB, 3 HBP.

    2023 mid season form.

His velo of his FB was around 94-96mph, so he's add a couple of ticks to his FB?

So whoever drafts him in Dobber Baseball league this year... don't try trading him to me.

I am not a Blue Jays fan and I am not going to be tricked into it!

Sure I'll take it. At least he'll make this season interesting. He's hilarious.

Also 25 hits behind Larry Walker for the most from a Canadian.

    Will he make the roster?

Can someone breakdown what a "non-roster invite" Is?
I assume its similar to a PTO in hockey, a tryout during camp but no commitment that he has a contract for the season?

non-roster invite (NRI) is an invitation for a player who is not on a club's 40-man roster to attend major-league camp at spring training and compete for a roster spot.
