I don't like what they did in the offseason, however the top FA signings were:
Ohtani - Historic
Yamamoto - Jays had no chance
Lee - Jays had no chance
Hader - Ended up doing alright, but he was a 3.80era closer
E. Rodriguez - Finished with 50ip, 5+era
Bellinger - Came back down to earth and didn't hit 20HR
Snell - He did amazing in the back half, but no spring training killed him
Chapman - His power was greatly missed especially on a 1yr deal.
Soler - Came back down to earth, but he might have done better in a Jays lineup honestly
Hoskins - Power would have been nice, but he hit 214

There wasn't really anyone out there that would have made this team so much better. It was a horrible approach at hitting that killed it in the first half, a barebones BP, and some starters not overperforming to make up for the offseason. And the BP was thin from trading all their assets the last few yrs.

The Jays need a new approach at hitting, a beefed up BP that doesn't get drained, and they need the young guys to step up.

Unless Ed Rogers is willing to get involved and make a smart business decision and fire Shapiro and clean house, this team, under this management group, is in trouble.

One of the highest payrolls in the league and one of the worst teams in the league. What's even worse is there's little to no future coming up to help them fill holes. Their bullpen is in need of dire help, their OF is just pathetic, who's playing 3B? Who's playing 2B? Who's their catcher? Hell, is Vlad or Bo even getting re-signed? Do they want to? So many questions and no one capable of answering them. Shapiro literally said their numbers said they should have been better. I dont know who's generating those numbers, but they need to be fired too because they are wrong!

If they don’t sign both Bo and Vladdy then it’s a failure. They need to lock those 2 guys up and build around them knowing they’ll be here for a while. That’s the first thing those 2 bozos should do this off season. Don’t let this drag into next year.

The more I think about this Gimenez trade, the more I am wondering if this IS their big play in the offseason. I guess it depends on how far into the luxury tax the Jays are willing to go. I think Burnes is a pipe dream. Outfields that offer some power are going to be expensive.

Thinking more about this management team, I can just imagine they are going to say that they feel there's some untapped offense in Gimenez's game, and that he will find it and we will once again be disappointed by stupid people running this team who think Jays fans are suckers and buying the trash they are selling.

I hope I am wrong, but I am really starting to wonder if this is as good as the off-season goes. I hope I am wrong, but Shatkins has proven already that they aren't really understanding the way you need to win in the Major Leagues anymore.

Apparently Gimenez dollar hit is closer to $12m than $23m that has been suggested by some Jays reporters. Which isn't much more than what Toronto signed Kiermaier (I think it was $10m) to last yr.

His annual payroll $ is $10,571,428 and his Luxury tax $ is $15,214,286 after looking it up.
