Kickuchi reaches double digits in wins for the first time in his career and on his way to his first season in the bigs with over 0.500 winning percentage. Man, what a turnaround for him this year compared to last season. I still remember when they signed him and I was pumped for the Jays. I was expecting him to be a solid 3-4 starter for them. It's taken his 2nd season there to get there, but he's been huge for them all year long. He's still signed next year on a bargain contract too.

Now imagine if Manoah had a 15-win season, they wouldn't be in this playoff wild card predicament.

Jays would probably be a wild card team no matter what this year. As of this moment they have the third fewest losses of anyone in the AL, yet are 10.5 games back in the division and almost eliminated.

They are now fully in control of their playoff destiny, and can clinch by the middle of next week with the weekend Seattle-Texas series helping them out.

Magic number is 6 for playoffs, 10 for home field.

The AL West is a dog fight right now for the first round bye.

Houston has it, but Seattle and Texas are only 0.5game behind them.

Alek Manoah has received multiple injections in his pitching arm in recent weeks. His season's officially over. More

    Great team win last night.
Good pitching, several very nice defensive plays! and then broke it open late with some offense (patience at the plate!) meant no high leverage arms were needed...

Is it possible the Jays get home field in the WC round? I though the #3seed (Twins) and WC#1 hosted the first round? I do not see Jays catching Rays (top WC)

Toronto DOES have a shot at home field. However they don't control their fate for that. Tampa's Magic Number to clinch home field is 3. Toronto needs to not lose another game this yr, and Tampa only win 1 more game for the finishing records be Toronto (95-67) and Tampa (94-68).

Toronto's Magic Number to finish 5th and face 4th place team is 10. If they win every game, and Tampa wins 2+, then it's Toronto @ Tampa.

Toronto Magic Number for Playoffs is 6.

Im ok with a loss tonight. Sprinkle a couple here over the weekend/early next week and then finish strong.

Also I'm going on Tuesday. They always lose when I go......
