Tough one last night to lose. Would've made some ground on both TB and Seattle. Big series coming up.

I was very happy with the split, of course rooting for both teams makes that desirable. Just ate my free chicken sandwich from McDonald's.

If we get a repeat of the 2003 matchup in the World Series, maybe I will try and get to a game in Toronto this this time.

Getting too far ahead here but ALDS schedule is

    Tuesday
    Thursday
    Saturday
    Sunday
    Monday

    That sucks for the Jays.

So this would make the Jays playoff Starters:
    Friday Oct 7th: Gausman
    Saturday Oct 8th: Manoah
    Sunday Oct 9th: Berrios/Stripling
    Monday Oct 10th: OFF DAY

Tuesday Oct 11th: Stripling/....hope Berrios is on his game on Sunday or they don't need Sunday
    Wed Oct 12th: OFF DAY
    Thurs Oct 13th: Gausman
    Friday Oct 14th: OFF DAY
    Saturday Oct 15th: Manoah
    Sunday Oct 16th: Berrios/Stripling

Kinda odd Berrios could go 7 days between starts.

I think we'll see the Jays clinch a wild card spot soon, and possibly even the top wild card spot early. Therefore, expect a bit of shuffling in the last few games to set things up as they prefer based on opponent.

Tonight's game is nationally televised here in the US. My SO is a Yankee fan. Watching together would be (ahem) not good.

Hopefully we send the damn Yankees the whole way out of town unclinched.

With the Orioles loss Jays have clinched a playoff spot! It's a start and I'm excited for Playoff Baseball.
Would be great to lock up the #1 Wildcard Spot and before the last game of the regular season.

    Home Field!

Seattle I think needs a Tampa loss or a Seattle win to get the WC2 seed. Nice to have it locked up and the Jays can use White and maybe Kikuchi for the final 2 games. Hopefully Gausman's finger heals quick.

Clinching home field with two games remaining is huge. Toronto can now set its lineup as it wants. Manoah-Stripling-Gausman (hopefully!) sounds great, especially if the bullpen is rested.

High probability it's going to be against the Mariners. That should be a fun series with Robbie Ray back on the mound in TO.

I wish Julio was still hurt.

He didn't even miss a beat coming back. 3/4 with a double and a walk, 1RBI. He did DH for the first time all year, so maybe he's not 100% healthy?

    Julio Rod vs Jays Starters:
    Manoah - 0/3, 1bb, 0ks
    Stripling - 2/4, 1double, 1k
    Berrios - 2/3.
    Gausman - Hasn't faced him

Funny he's 4/10, but has no HRs or RBIs

I really like Seattle and was pulling for them all year. Until now.

    That bullpen though. Ugh.

Also....I had assumed the Jays would get the early game on Friday and was annoyed by that. But should we be hoping for that if they face Seattle? A 1pm EST start has got to be rare for the Mariners and I would assume could throw off their clocks a bit.
