Jays signing Ray already, apparently in on Lindor, apparently wanting to talk to Springer and JBJ. Hopefully calling Bauer to see where he stands.

I don't think it's really out of the question in Toronto getting Lindor. The big thing is if the ownership group will 'ok' a mega deal after Jays acquire Lindor. When it comes to ownership money, Jays are in a good position compared to other teams where they don't need to cut salary at all. Bichette has already been approached about his role as a SS in the future.

The interesting question for me is what are their plans for the OF. You have Gurriel, Hernandez, Grichuck and Biggio playing out there.

What's the lowdown on Lindor? I just remember a lot of him destroying us in the post season but when i look at what some people are suggesting as a package for him and then i compare that to his stats, I feel like I'm missing something here.

I'm guessing it's because he's a 27-year old SS with a ~.850 OPS and ++ defense and that's hard to come by in the league?

You don't get All Star SS available via trade before the age of 30. He had a down yr last yr and still put up decent numbers. Lindor can be a top 10 player in the league. 4x All Star, 2x Gold Glove, 2x Silver Slugger. And between 2016-2019 he was 9th, 5th, 6th, 15th in MVP voting. And he's has no injury history to worry about.

All this on a Cleveland team with little offensive help around him compared to the likes of Mookie and Bellinger.

Jays are starting to have serious conversations with Springer and Brantley

Kolten Wong is the Jays backup plan if DJ LeMahieu signs with the Yankees

I'm fine with signing Springer out of the core group of the Astros. His attitude through the whole cheating thing was good in my eyes. He never boasted, yelled, denied. His stats were also not as one sided like Correa and Altuve and rumours were Springer wasn't involved with the cheating.

If Toronto gets both Brantley and Springer, curious what their outfield endgoal is.

I can see them chasing both but I dont see them signing both. Springer is their main target but Brantley would be a solid backup option if Springer falls through.

Was he considered a top FA? lol.

I don't hate what the Jays are doing. The group has steered the team in their direction, the only bad thing so far is they didn't manage the old players well. Casting off Donaldson and Stroman with little regard to the social side of the sport, which in my mind, is fine. But you have to be prepared to deal with the repercussions of that.

Moving Donaldson and Stroman have looked like the right moves however so far.

I hear the Jays have expressed interest in Pierre-Luc Dubois.
