I was hearing last night after the game, there isn't really anyone in AAA that they feel comfortable with bringing up at this point so they dont know what to do. I say look at their bullpen. Everyone of those pitchers in the 'pen was a starter at some point in their career. No one starts out as a relief pitcher. Let one of them start and go a few innings. Then follow up with another relief pitcher, and so on. And if you're worried about their arms, bring up someone for the bullpen if needed. Everyone of those pitchers in the bullpen are major league pitchers. Maybe let them pitch??

They have a couple of off days coming up, they could manipulate the rotation where they can run 4 guys not next week, but the week after for a turn around the rotation.

Opening Day starters are becoming jinxed. Manoah this year, Berrios last year, Ryu a couple years ago. Stroman in '19 then got traded midseason. If I am a Jays pitcher next year, I am not sure I want the ball on opening day.

From what I understand it is exactly what it sounds like. A league that plays in the Spring Training facilities (in Florida, there is also an Arizona version) complexes, so the teams play out of the Spring Training facilities.
From a competitive perspective it is a single "A" and "rookie" league, the lowest rung of affiliated baseball.
However, the team plays out of Dunedin where the Jays have their big spring training complex.

So he will have all the high-tech gizmos and gadgets, all the training staff and coaches, and some pretty weak competition to hopefully strike out.
Hopefully he finds his game, if he does maybe he gets a start in AA or AAA before an eventual recall.

It's a full mental reset to me. He can go see a movie in Dunedin and not be recognized, gets a bit of vaca, reset and get to feeling it again.

I truly don't see how much he can work on in Dunedin that wasn't being tried in Toronto.

I saw a lot of threads the last month on how he's releasing his slider at a different spot than his FB and that might be why he can't get ks. So maybe he can just work 24/7 at bringing that release point back in without a magnify glass on him.

    Very confusing 24 hour saga.
    1. He had previously made all of his garbage anti-LGBTQ comments
    2. then the Jays announce he would catch the first pitch of pride weekend on Friday
    3. At some point Bass doubled down and shared another anti-LGBTQ video
    4. then (presumably due to backlash) he gets DFA, which given his performance is totally justified....

So I assume he's not catching the first pitch, but awkward walk back for Jays management.

Well good news is that the Jays are currently holding onto the final wildcard by half a game.
Bad news is Manoah just had his first start in the Florida Complex League:

    2.2 IP
    - 11 ER,
    - 10 H,
    - 2 BB,
    - 3 K
    - 2 HR

    The man is broken.

And more bad news. Their offense pulled off one of their famous duds vs a pitcher I've never heard of. Sooooo frustrating.

A Blue Jays fan recently moved into my neighborhood. This wouldn't be news if I didn't live in suburban Philly.

Still hoping to finally get to SkyDome for a game this season.
