Pearson's lack of control a problem again today, but as usual, Montoyo goes to the bullpen too early IMO. That's his biggest flaw as a manager as far as I'm concerned. He doesn't trust his starters to pitch out if trouble and relies too much on the pen.

To be fair the Jays did have Kay likely warming up and prepping like he was starting, and Pearson throwing 60+ pitches and being wild was a recipe for a short game.

Would have been nice though just to allow Pearson to throw 100pitches or whatever his number was. I also was a bit surprised it was McGuire catching over Jansen. I feel like Jansen calls a very good game and understands catching more than McGuire.

I'm glad Pearson escaped the game without injury though. Seems to be the Jays bar now for me, can they escape the game without injury.

Can anyone remember the last Jays starter to go beyond the 7th inning?

I think we all knew this rotation was sup-par and lacked depth and it's showing very early on in the season.

Ryu went 7 in his second start, that was the last time someone went 7ip. Pitching in the 8th would be...2019 likely. No one on the Jays this yr or last yr went 7+. Stroman went 8innings in April 2019... lol

Team is rolling with Teoscar back. Would love to see what it looks like with Springer in there for more than a half series.

This is the offense we were promised.

Potential to have massive scoring games, but the more important is they pass the offense to the next guy and get wins.
    Tuesday - Vlad 3 RBIS
    Wednesday - Teoscar 3 RBIs
    Thursday - Bo 3 RBIs

Biggio has even played a bit better. Last 10 games:
    0.281avg (9/32), 0.410OBP, 0.848OPS, 7ks, 6RBIs, 2B, 7BB

I know he's not with the Jays anymore, but that's didn't want to start a new thread on him. Did anyone see Kevin Pillar get cranked in the face last night? I was watching the game when it happened and man it looked bad. I'll say this, he's damn lucky. Here's what he looks like today.

On a different note.... This team is rolling. All without their prized free agent bat.

Who is #1? White Sox? They've been rolling. And without Eloy and Robert. Look out AL.

Jays are 5th in run differential, and have had the hardest schedule out of any team to date.

Top 6 in Run Scored and Runs given up. With the injuries to their pitching staff, and Springer out.
