Cap league so it's automatic Turris. Skill wise it's close, but the cap difference is too great.

I'm a Turris owner, and wondering what kind of projections people have for him. I'm in a rotisserie league, and I acquired him early this summer as a kind of 'throw-in'.
G, A, PTS, PPP, SOG, +/-, PIM, DEF for skaters. I also like the Legwand signing, which should keep Turris from killing as many penalties as he did last year.

Can someone give me a comparative player?
Where is he now in relation to his ceiling?

    Thanks all

With the money you save having Turris over O'Reilly you can grab another valuable asset for a shot at the big money in your league!!

Cap leagues make decisions a lot easier most times when comparing two guys who get close to the same stats..

In terms of talent though, would everyone say they are pretty close to each other?? For producing going forward?

In terms of talent I like O'Reilly much more, but I'm with the consensus that in a cap league Turris is the ONLY choice.

I agree that O'Reilly is a much more complete player and without the cap issues he'd be my choice as well, but obviously Turris is too cheap here to pass over.

I have a hard time connecting the dots with Turris though. High draft pick that took a long time to finally get rolling, and now, 5-6 years after being drafted he's looking like a guy who can really help a team. If his name was Russian sounding ... oh say Turrisapov, would he have had a team stick with him through his struggles and be the player he is now? Add in the fact that he got the boot from a team that he held out on as well. It just goes to show you that not everyone, even high end draft picks, take the same route through the NHL as we might expect.

O'Reilly and Turris are very very similar. Both 200 feet players who focus on D first but still have the offensive punch. They scored nearly the same amount of goals this year as well. The cap hit heavily sways this in Turris' favour though.
