Some advice please

In a straight points keeper league I am close to trading with a guy, he just needs a push. Here\'s my latest offer, that I will propose in a few hours after some input.

I\'m giving Datsyuk, Brad Richards, A droppable slug, my number 1 (9th overall and next years #3

I\'m getting Eric Staal, Justin Williams (Carolina), Camallieri, his number one (second overall with all this year\'s draftees available as well as Mueller and next year\'s #2)

What would you settle for if he didn\'t bite. Is it worth offering more?

I love datsiuk and Richards (he will bounce back for sure) but you are receiving 3 good players....camalliri, stall williams a first pick...man I think you should do that trade!

I was gonna tell you not to do the deal just based on my initial reaction. However, I\'m reconsidering that. I think Staal will end up being the best the player in the deal, and has the ability to score at a level that datsyuk and richards never will, namely over 100 a season. I like Cammalleri, but am not a big fan of Ju. Williams. All in all though if you\'re getting a future stud like Toews/Mueller, whom ever it should be worth it.

I guess this is my round about way of giving this deal the thumbs up, although I am curious who the slug is.

The slug will be a player I may cut anyway (Anson Carter for instance). Unfortunately we have to trade three for three or two for two.

Thats a great deal. It hurts to give away Datsyuk and Richards, but to get Staal and Cammalerri in return is just as good. And not only that you are getting Mueller, J.Williams, and 2 draft picks. One of which in a 2nd overall pick.

I think Datsyuk/Richards cancel out Staal/Cammalerri. You are also getting two more players (Williams/Mueller) and 2 draft picks..

I would do this deal.Not a big Williams fan either but still.Do it up.

I agree, you aren\'t losing much in the way of production, and you\'re getting much younger in the process. The high picks are nice too, because you can always downgrade by getting something in return.

Nice set up. Take the deal.

So if he\'s already close, maybe it\'s got a decent chance... If he was close before this offer, I\'d say the guy he\'s trading with isn\'t too bright...

At least not on purpose I\'m sure... If you enter many leagues in yahoo and/or espn, it does sort of seem sometimes like you\'re playing against 12 year olds that are more interested in world of warcraft and legos.

You\'re right, I suppose that sometimes those yahoo leagues can be a crapshoot. I ended up #4 overall one year back in the late 90\'s, but the managers in my league were so incompetent that it wasn\'t exactly anything to write home about. And that was in a \'competitive\' league. This season I only had time for my keeper league, but that alone was definitely more rewarding.

I\'d be all over this deal if I were you.
If he\'s not willing to do it, instead of offering your \"droppable slug\", you might want to add a little more (perhaps a draft pick)
Cammalleri is sick! Carolina is going to be much better this year.. Not starting the season with all of the injuries they started with last year (Kaberle, Stillman)and now they have Cullen back who will bring back some of that team chemistry they lost when he signed with NY. Williams and Staal will both have excellent seasons. They should equal their point totals from 05/06.. Make the deal!!
