I won $300 off a friend of mine. It was an even bet with no odds. I had Germany and he had Argentina. It was $300 to the winner if it was decided before penalties, and just $100 to the winner if it was decided on penalty kicks. I was pretty happy with the outcome. He and I always bet on things like this, and have for years. He will get it back from me at some point!

I had money on Argentina and the Netherlands from the start, so needless to say I'm not thrilled with the last few days! That said, it wasn't a fortune and I don't care at all about the sport so no real harm done!
