I find soccer dreadfully boring and slow. Throw the diving on top of that and its probably the one sport I can't watch.

    Another idiotic comment.

My team did not lose yesterday. My country did. And unless you have ever experience your country being that close and not win it, you probably don't know how it feels lol. Because Olympic hockey gold and Stanley cups, don't come close to World Cup.

So, hopefully Canada (and USA) will be better teams in future, and you can experience that undescribable feeling.

The wins are phenomenal, and the losses are crushing. And I wouldn't trade it for a ******ed best of 7 series.

And that's why it is in fact, a beautiful game

Just your personal opinion. I'd take 1 Stanley Cup win for my Oilers over Canada winning every World Cup for the rest of eternity.

Probably a stretch to say the rest of the world. I'd bet that countries like Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and probably even Russia would rather have an Olympic gold medal for hockey. MURICA wants to win everything.

That being said, soccer is a universal sport, while hockey is not.

That's just fine. American idol was also the highest rated tv show for a long time too and it's utter garbage. Might doesn't make right.

It drives me nuts when people say soccer is the best because it's the most popular. That has nothing to do with quality. Is rice the best tasting food on the planet? It's popular because ANYBODY CAN PLAY IT, ANYWHERE! Pretty much for free! That doesn't mean it's good! Yes, it's a better sport to watch than a guy sitting in a chair reading...

    I enjoyed this response.

For the record, I do wish Canada was better at soccer, but when you live in an Arctic wasteland of a country where you have snow 8 months a year and pretty much all of your best athletes play hockey, well, you can kinda figure out why we aren't exactly a world power at the beautiful game. Oh, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
