Yep, I'm not buying a big point jump for Daley either. He has been a very consistent 25pt guy (prorated over 82 games) in the NHL since since his 2nd season. Seemed to be a decent scoring Dman in the OHL but has not shown any progress to scoring more since being in the AHL/NHL.

Seabrook was kinda like that until he broke out (high 20s to low 30s until bang! 48.).. Granted, different team.. but when the offense breaks out in front of ya, sometimes the pts just come off collaterally... Dan Hamhuis is another example of a steady low scoring career with a couple of aberrations in there...

Not sayin' it's a lock.. Just a guess..

My other guess is Jason Demers..

    re: Daley.
I think when we look at stats for a player that's been in the league for 10 years, we think... we can't possibly expect anything different then what he's given us in 10 previous years?!?.
His stat sheet is nothing but consistent. Straight 22-27pts seasons in full seasons. Straight runs of 3-5 PPP... nothing more.
C'mon Pen... you like patterns, how do you not see the pattern with this guys stats?!?

Dive in. (and we are looking at his stats because I saw him play late in the season & playoffs and saw a differently used Daley. This is not just a stats-post.)
Let's take a look at his game log/splits.
    OCT: 19min/game, 0 PPP
    NOV: 20min/game, 1 PPP
    DEC: 20min/game, 0 PPP
    JAN: 20min/game, 0 PPP
    FEB: 21min/game, 0 PPP
    ~Olympics~
    MAR: 22.5min/game, 0 PPP
    APR: 25min/game, 3 PPP

He closed the season with 2 goals, 3 assists in his last four games... logging his 3 PPP.
And for those that remember, these were KEY games for Daley. Dallas and Phoenix were in an absolute dogfight for the last Western playoff spot.

In the playoffs he logged almost 26min/game (of course, includes OT games though)... with 5pts.

How 'bout that last game of the playoffs vs. ANA?
Daley was the best player in that game for Dallas, by far, game was in Dallas.
It will be the last & freshest memories of hockey for that organization.
    It's here.
    http://espn.go.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=400552563

    PPTOI for Dallas
    6:56 Goligoski
    6:30 Eakin
    6:30 Daley
    6:27 Benn
    6:27 Seguin
    ...
    2:06 Fiddler
    2:02 Sceviour
    2:02 Horcoff
    2:02 Gonchar
    1:36 Jo.Benn

Now... we'd have to assume that Spezza will take Eakin's PP1 spot.
But... the Stars closed the season with a good run and pushed ANA hard in the playoffs.

DAL leaned on Daley for huge minutes... 28min (same as Goligoski) in that final ANA game.
And he was working on their PP.

So, this is what I'm combining:
    1. Daley averages about 20 ESP per season, logging 20min. If he plays 22min/game, we're looking at 22 ESP. Add in a deeper DAL offense, and I'll give him 3-to-5 more points. 25-27 ESP.
    2. Daley as a PP guy. Recall, he's only banked 5 PPP max in any given year. But he had 3 PPP to close the regular season and played on the 6min PP1 group in the ANA series. If he gets PP1 time, 13-15 PPP.

If Daley gets that 2nd D spot on DAL PP1, he's going to get 13-15 PPP by simple puck touches.

    25 ESP
    +15 PPP
    ---------
    40pts.

Now, perhaps Dallas doesn't roll with Daley on PP1 - and then I'd retract.
But, if you are drafting in a one-year pool... and he's on the board... and DAL opens the season with him on PP1... and the PP clicks.
You can come back to thank AgentZero and I.

No way he is on PP1. Sorry. Even without Spezza, Hemsky and likely Nichushkin ready for a bigger PP role, there is no way Daley is on the #1 Dallas PP next year. And Eakinwas on the # 1 powerplay about as much as Daley last year (basically never). The two guys who spent a lot of time on the Dallas PP that will their minutes replaced are Whitney and Chiasson. This is where Hemsky and Spezza come in.

So who do you roll on PP1 if you're Dalllas, you go 4F I guess?

    D Gogo
    F Spezza
    F Seguin
    F Hemsky
    F Benn

    ?

    Decent, for sure.

    PP2 is left with

    D Daley
    D
    F Nichu
    F Eakin
    F Cole

and in that other D spot I have no idea who to put....?

If it goes like that I agree that Daley is in tough to hit 40 pts. But the guy scored 9 goals last year... wouldn't you want to tap into that?

    D Gogo
    D Daley
    F Nichushkin
    F Seguin
    F Benn

D Rando... like Dillono or Connauton...
    D Eakin
    F Hemsky
    F Spezza
    F Cole

I dunno. Both seem workable... Injuries and performance will obviously dictate everything...

I appreciate the prediction and it could definitely happen with the additions to that Dallas offense!!

Yes. He probably won't do it this year, but 1 or 2 seasons from now for sure. I'm always impressed by his PP QB abilities. If he can prove himself this year he either leapfrogs the top dogs in NSH or gets traded.

If he gets moved I think he explodes, but the d corp is crowded in NSH. He may be on the third pairing solely based on handedness. Weber, Jones and Ellis are all RHD. He'll still get his PP time luckily. I'm looking for him to swing up to 33 or 34 this year.
