    Default Daniel Sedin

    Hey,

I was wondering how much of an upgrade is Sedin over Ladd. I'd be dropping Ladd if the trade goes through.
I might have a chance to acquire him for picks. He'd be my #1 LW.
How much will the new coach impact them?
Do you see him get back over 70pts? For a couple of seasons?

My current team and league settings are bellow.

    Thanks!

I would take Sedin anytime before Ladd.....I think the Sedins aren't done yet and may have 2-3 years at 70+ pts left in the tank......It was a mess with Torts out there....forget about last season....

Don't lose faith in Sedin. He's a good bet to rebound this year.

Sedin will continue on his downward spiral, and it may get even worse with the Canucks now looking to rebuild.

He had 47 points this year, was on pace for 69 in the shortened season, 67 points the year before that. People have been waiting for him to rebound for three years now.

He's not getting the benefit of offensive zone starts like he used to. He kills penalties, which is harder minutes and takes a toll. His supporting cast have gone downhill. etc etc etc.

His offensive zone starts will increase and one must think Desjardins will remove the Sedins from the PK.

In saying that, newf has a point and 70 points may be ambitious. I would still roll with D-sEdin over Ladd though.

    Cheers.

He's still pretty high (60 per cent of his starts are in the offensive zone). I just can't see him getting back to the days of 75 per cent.

I went ahead with the trade.

    I get:
    Daniel Sedin (LW)
    5th round in 2014

    I gave:
    Brandon Saad (LW)
    1st round in 2015
    7th round in 2014

The way I see it is I get an immediate help with Sedin this year and a favorable swap this year. Then I give a first round next year (which will most probably be in the 7-12 overall range, so no McDavid here). Saad would have been dropped regardless. The price is a bit high, but it's what it was going for in our league (Brother Sedin was dealt for a 1st round and Parise was also dealt for the 1st overall at the draft last year.)

I think this move will help me fight for a playoff spot again with my current group of keepers. This year I'm drafting 6th in every round and I usually do a good draft.

    Thanks guys.
