    Default Big Trades and Changes

I have recently made three trades

    1) Atkinson, Martin, 2015 1st round
    for
    McDonagh, 2014 2nd round

    2) Malkin, Mrazek, 2015 1st round
    for
    Stoll, Smith-Pelly, 2014 1st overall, 2014 2nd overall, 2014 16th overall

    3) Lundqvist, 2015 1st round pick (lottery)
    for
    Landeskog, Barkov, Pavelec, Boyle

Any input on an individual trade or the three combined would be appriciated.

    Thanks

You got a huge bump in goaltending with adding Lundy and giving yourself 4 '15 picks will be huge. From what I can see, your team isn't going to do much competing this year, but that will all change if any of those 4 picks wind up in the top 5 for next year.

2 of the 2015 picks should be top 3 depending on the lottery

You got Malkin, Lundqvist and 3 tickets in the McDavid sweepstakes. You won hands-down.

I know most of us don't like trade vetoes.... but that 2nd one. Are you kidding? Who is buddy gonna draft with those first two picks this year?

Overall all 3 look like pretty good deals to me. Hopefully the pick in Trade 3 will turn into McDavid or Eichel for you. That would DEFINITELY ease the pain of giving up Barkov and Landeskog.

I remember I posted re: trade 2 for you in another thread, but it looks like it wasn't a fluke lol, all 3 of these are pretty good deals for you. Well done!

    Hmmm... interesting trade.
If I'm just looking at the overall pieces in the trade that you obtained: Malkin, Lundqvist, (3) 1st rounders in 2015... this is a BIG win.

But the strange part is the overall "direction" here.
I like Malkin - but he's a big dude... and honestly, I expect him to keep breaking down a little more every year.
And I love Lundqvist - but goalies age too. As he gets older, and with NYR being so solid, I'd expect to see less & less starts out of him each year. Especially in H2H, if NYR is quality (and I think they will be), then I think he'll sit down the stretch (H2H playoffs) in many years to come.
The 2015 draft picks are great - for a rebuilding team. Your team isn't in "rebuild" with Malkin/Lundqvist.

    In summary:
Malkin/Lundqvist are AMAZING players for the next 3 years... beyond that, let's hope they are great.
The 2015 draft picks aren't worth anything for next 2 years probably... beyond that they are great.

So... the return is awesome, but you want a team to PEAK at the same time, and you'll be lucky to have that happen.
Regardless, if you can make these three trades, then you know how to turn a value piece into another value piece.
For that reason, overall, it's a BIG WIN.
    Thumbs up.

    Thanks for all the imput.

    @Pengwin7
I agree with you 100%, I plan to trade both Malkin and Lundqvist at some point during this season or next. trade them when their value is high for a good group of young players. As there is no cap I want all of my players to be in their prime at the same time.
